After months of asking around for feedbacks and suggestions, I have finally bought myself Sony Bravia 32BX350, 32 inch LCD 720p. I have used it for 1 week and what a beauty it is. I will review it once now and once after 2 months.

But first some photos ...

Review coming in just few minutes.

Congratulations!

Hope you get a lot of viewing mileage out of it.

Cheers

I plan to use it for 3-4 years and then go for a 46 incher. But all depends on my career growth. Just been working for 1 year and 10 months now.

I bought this LCD 1 week back after months of research, suggestions and feedback. I considered Toshiba, Samsung and LG as well. Sony's LED's were way too costly. Then I laid my eyes on this beauty online. Impressive features and attractive price drew my attention further. Then I went to the shop and extensively check all the 32" models from most makers. I took my flash along with multiple movies in different formats. The store was Pushing for LG and Samsung models and even showed me howtheir black levels were better and some of them offered 1080p. What happened next will be covered as myth busters ...

Myth 1: Other makers give better features at same price-point
Truth:
You pay for Sony, you can rest assured that you will get all the features you NEED. First off, Full HD on 32" is pointless, absolutely useless. Even PS3 games are in 720p and so are HD channels via HD STBs. Besides to enjoy 1080p you need atleast 42 inch. And SMART TV feature is DUMB. Do you have a PC? Can spare some money for an long HDMI cable? Internet, PC Games, Movies, all are achieved. You still want some App? Really? Seriously??

Myth 2: Sony doesn't play all movie formats. Cannot play from portable HDDs.
Truth:
Yes, it doesn't play all formats, while other makers do. But Sony will support 90% of the codecs. Most MKVs play fine and for those which doesn't you just need one software to ensure it plays seamlessly. Google it, you can find it on your own.
As for HDDs, it scans and plays everything from portable HDDs. I have my seagate 320 GB from which I have played movies, music and images. All perfectly.

Myth 3: Better black levels in other Makers' TVs.
Truth:
They all keep the picture settings in that manner which makes these cheaper Sony LCDs and LEDs look dull in front of other makers. They know Sony will sell anyway, so they don't care. LG and Samsung pays better incentive to them to push these products.

Myth 4: LED's are better than LCD
Truth:
The only thing LEDs are better in are Power Consumption. A differnece of 30-35 watts can be saved with LEDs over LCDs. Picture quality is same, if not better on LCDs. After all LEDs are LCDs with LED back-lights replacing the CCFL back-lights. LED isn't a picture panel type, it is just a back-light technlogy.

Now some features that I loved abouth 32BX350,

Picture: Amazing picture quality, just tweak the settings according to your needs and you'll see the magic unfold in front of your eyes.

Sound: Put the volume at 30% and you will go crazy with the clarity and quality. Don't expect a good 2.1 speaker-level bass. You can always use external speakers to achieve the same. I am using my old Altec Lensing 2.1 and it's 'big-bada-boom' performance.

Connectivity: 2x HDMI is good enough for my PS3 and PC and future HD STB. Has one VGA for PC, analogue AV inputs, 1 headphone socket (for 2.1 speakers as well) and 1 home-theater input separately. No optical out. And ofcourse the USB for HDD and flash drives.

Aesthetics: I was awestruck with the beauty. I don't really like the slick LEDs. They kind of make it look cheap. But just my opinion. But quality of the materials used and the way it is designed is absolutely head-turner.

Price: You can get it around 27k. Don't ask me how much I got it for. Can't share. But I can tell you that I got it for above 27k. At this price it beats Sony's own 32EX330 costing 33k and even Samsung 5000R. Although LG looked better in PQ, I didn't like the looks and what I heard about LG's service.

Lastly,
Gaming on 32BX350: Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!! PS3 and PC both looks fabulous on it.

I recommend it to any person who wants a great TV within 35k. No TV will match this performance till that price-point. Beyond that, I don't think it's worth spending anything more than 32k for a 32 incher. Save some more money and go for 42 inch. Otherwise buy this and be the BOSS.

Congrats man!!

Some how I hated Sony on TV's and didn't like the quality.. though I am Sony 40" user here in NZ.. lol dint had money to buy the costly ones and Sony was cheapest I could get..

OP, are you a salesman of sony? your post looks like something those sales persons keep yakking about in malls.

You pay for Sony, you can rest assured that you will get all the features you NEED. First off, Full HD on 32" is pointless, absolutely useless.

I don't agree with that, if that's the case we won't be seeing any 1080p smartphones in 2013 at least and one can see the difference even on a 5 inch screen.

Btw congrats for the tv

Congrats for the TV but your Myth busting looks highly inclined towards Sony. Not saying that Sony TVs are bad, its just that your explanation is terribly lop-sided (to the point of being lousy at times). Anyway, as long as you are liking your TV, nothing else matters.

Anything less than 300ppi really matters when viewed from up close.

On a 32" TV, I don't think 720p is enough. It will look decent, even my 15 year old CRT TV looks OK to me, but when you're comparing it to a 1080p panel, you cannot just say that it is of no use. It does makes a difference, maybe not much according to your usage pattern, but it still does.

But then again, people make up weird facts to justify their purchases and feel good about it. It's alright, whatever makes you feel good.

 Just my opinion, guys. I am not a Sony salesman or anything. I also have a 40 inch Samsung LCD at home and it performed well but PQ wise Sony is much better. Samsung has good service but the thing is Samsung TVs are the most returned for replacement or repair and LG TVs have pathetic service in East.

i own a 32 inch FHD LCD so i can tell you that one really doesn't need a 42 incher for FHD benefits...btw,how did you come up with that logic?Did the smelly baboon salespeople tell you that?when i had gone to buy a PS3 from a croma shop,One raffish looking, jumanjee salesman told me he planned to buy a PS3 and the most expensive 3D tv in the store at that time(and then live on the pavement while dealing with undernourishment, he didn't say this but looking at him, this was the only possible outcome),it costed about 2.5 Lakhs, although i didn't say anything, this is what came to my mind :

(at least he would die a gay-mer)
and man,congr
ats and all,but with the amount of myths you have busted, were you playing detective in the store?because i know everyone hates the guy that spends hours in the store exploring things..ppl are like just buy it,and after sometime they assume you don't have the money and you are just going to say "hmm,i will come back tommorowsies",and of course, you never do).and almost forgot to say, sweet camera bro(i can count the number of pixels)..and man you own a 23 inch FHD display but then you say for enjoying FHD one needs at least a 42 inch display,i am just putting it out there.congrats.

OP said he already has a samsung 40 inches but sony is better in picture quality ?:p? and btw 23 inch monitor can justify FHD resolutions very well.

Seems like I have angered quite a few here  But I had no intention to hurt anyone's feelings. Thing is, 1080p details on PC are much more noticable on a 23 incher than a 32 inch TV of same resolution, cuz of the GPU one owns. And as per how I came about all the conclusions, I have had discussions with quite a few videophiles, people who own 720p and 1080p HDTVs and also I have checked their performance personally in the stores. And, no, they didn't loose interest cuz 1) I told them that I'll buy right then and that too entire cash down and 2) Personality and attitude speaks for itself.

Ohh, I forgot to say, Sony as a brand for HDTVs will always be better than Samsung and LG (not talking about individual models here but the brand for TV itself). So, if you one cannot afford it, one shouldn't convince itself otherwise.

Yea TV is good. but ur myth busters are load of B$. To be honest, Sharp makes one of the best HDTV.. Sony is just an average brand.. Your TV is just an average TV man. enough for ur needs. thats all.

enjoy ur TV. :hail:

What 1080p contents you recon can be used on a FHD TV? More than 90% games (and almost 100% of all good game) on PS3 are 720p and HD channels on STBs are either 720p or 1080i (which is worse than 720 progressive). so we are left with just BluRay, correct me if I'm wrong.

Making great picture panels is one thing and 'buying those picture panel, putting them along with great components and optimizing it for pure awesomeness' is another. In India at-least, Sharp is stands nowhere in the HDTV market.
