I don't know about Pakistan, but learning just English that too Hinglish from shitty sitcoms and then looking down upon your mother tongue is Victorian Sycophancy at its best!

^^The demand for English is more because its much easier to work with officially. It has nothing to do with "supremacy".

From your posts in this thread and other threads, you seem like those guys who makes issues out of "Indian culture vs western culture" topics.

Pakistan might not be the best choice if English communication skills are required, just like some people suggested Pakistan to a certain actor, when he wanted to move to a more "tolerant" nation.:rolleyes:

Well that's what you think and you are free to have your views. However, the rest of the world begs to differ. In countries like France and Spain, people willingly don't speak English as they think their language is superior. English, as a language, was forced upon us as we were a British colony, and it is good for business. I am not denying that. But the common trend these days is to completely abandon the mother tongue and rebuke those who use it even. English is absolutely necessary for international transactions, however one should be proud of his/her regional and national diversity. Do you know in Manipur, each hamlet has a distinct language. Where else in world would you find such a rich cultural heritage . We even have languages which don't have any script. For example, recently in anadamans, a language got extinct with the death of the last speaker of that language. Isn't this a tragedy?

A unipolar world becomes too monotonous. With each language comes a district cultural heritage which you should embrace and acknowledge if you want to understand the happenings around you! One can't shun ones roots to become so called modern. That's hypocrisy. Just roam around central universities of the country and see how many foreigners have enrolled to our language courses!

Being a computer guy, I hate i18n its PITA. And I think all this talk about "being forced upon us", "Superiority" etc... patriotic and emotional talk is BS. Evolution takes its course and certain languages die. just like prakrit, just like vedic sanskrit and many more.

Evolution takes its course?? lol! Weirdest argument in support of western Sycophancy ever! Do you even know the meaning of the term of evolution sir? Evolution results in the selection of the superior species or entity. And personally, English is just too easy to master and it is in no way superior to many of the regional giants. Heck, even street vendors can speak English here. People generally give such lame arguments to rebuke/mock some concept bigger than their comprehension. Maybe this is the case here!!

PS:- with reference to the gif you have posted, I reckon this ignorance stems from fact that you have been rejected by a tad too many "pussies"
