Budget 0-20k Wifi USB adapter suggestions?

Hi Guys,

I have an Asus router which gices [supposedly] 1300 Mbps on the 5GHz band. Suggestions for an adapter that can take advantage of these speeds? Can buy from abroad too. his is for a desktop.

Was thinking of this one?

You're never going to get 1300Mbps on a single device. That's just theoretically how fast it can go.

What's your internet speed? Do you want to get this USB Wifi adapter for file transfers on your local network or internet streaming?

I realise that. Just want the fastest I can get. My ISP is 100mbps, and I get 50mbps with my current age old wifi adapter which is 2.4GHz. My phone connects to the 5GHz network, and I get about 85mbps where my desktop is. My Laptop also which can connect to the 5GHz, gets about 90mbps at the location of my desktop.

So, 2 aims.

1. Get the 85mbps at least by getting a dual band adapter
2. I have a NAS attached to the router. So, with a faster connection, backups will be faster.

An extension cable from the back with the antenna anchored some place high will get you the best reception.

I have a couple of extension cables that came with some old wifi adapters. Will use one. If connecting to a USB 3 port, would the quality of the cable make any difference?
