Budget 31-40k 27" WQHD/2k/1440p 144Hz Gaming Monitor Within 40-45k

Hi All,
I upgrade my gear on a piecemeal basis every year and this year I am planning to move to WQHD from 1080p as my CPU and GPU (3900X in 2019 and RTX 2080 in 2018 )are now beefy enough to handle that.

Currently I use a Samsung 24" Full HD VA panel (LC24FG70FQWXXL) which is running at 120 Hz at ultra for all the games I play. But I want to try out basic HDR (not the 1000 nits Full Array Local Dimming one as its exorbitantly expensive) and want to move to IPS from VA. I am not at all interested in 240 Hz TN panels as my GPU is not up to the task.
This is the monitor I have currently.

I have been doing some research for quite some time on 2k monitors and I was really interested in the LG 27GL850 which is the best midrange monitor but it is not released in India and I don't think it will be as LG announced new monitors in CES 2020.

Samsung also unveiled new monitors at CES 2020 but I have seen a lot of people facing issues with dead pixels on Samsung VA panels and I am not sold on tha route until I see user reviews.

Out of the existing monitors on the market I ranked them as follows-

Aorus AD27QD- People face issues on reddit and this is not a great panel for the price of 54k in 2020.
Acer VG271U/XV272U/Predator- Lots of QC issues on reddit and the dead pixels/backlight bleed keep on increasing during the lifetime
LG 32/27 4k monitors are not a good choice as I will feel pissed off when I can't run games at 4k.

But lately I have been looking at a new monitor BenQ EX278OQ which as per reddit seems a great deal at 35k.

144 Hz 400 nits peak brightness IPS with 95% DCI-P3 coverage which has a wider gamut compared to sRGB and people are pretty happy with it on Reddit. Now what do you guys think?

Any reasons I should pull back from the BenQ folks?
I am itching to go out today and buy it.

I would wait for the tuf or view sonic models to hit the Indian stores.

You mean the TUF VG27AQ?
I checked the reviews and the error rate is a bit too high. Asus only does overpriced stuff. The only decent TUF product are their laptops.

As ofr the ViewSonic ones they never launch the Elite lineup in India.

Don't recall the tuf model but one is va panel and other is IPS panel. Was talking about ips one.

The BenQ has better contrast ratio and gamur coverage i.e. video will look better. The Asus trounces it in refresh rate and response time but my GPU can't drive 1440p at 165 fps.

You might upgrade the gpu but not monitor. For 35k 5ms rt is too much. Also even 120 fps on tuf will be great on that monitor. Ips with 1ms rt is the future.

Monitors are generally overpriced in India. The 3900X which is a 500 USD part cost me 44k odd but a Asus PG279Q worth 624 USD is 71k here.
And Asus is almost always priced higher here.
If I have to wait I will look forward to the LG 27GL850 or the newer ones they announced at CES. But theres no ETA which keeping in mind the 27GL850 was launched in the US more than 6 months back but yet to be launched in India makes me a bit concerned about LG's plan for India.

LG really raised my hopes when the older LG UltraGear monitors were being sold with heavy discounts on Amazon in December and I though that the 27GL850 launch was imminent but no dice.

Besides I am not an elite gamer who needs 1 ms GtG. Nowadays I am a filthy casual single player aficionado who likes eye candy more.:p:p

I moved to 120 Hz from a 60 Hz monitor and the refresh rate change is noticeable which I cannot go back from now that I got a taste of it.

Guys a Simple heads up -- Don't buy Samsung monitors.

They have too many issues to deal with. 4K compatibility issues with Mac OS, windows and No drivers available.

what not.

I am not even going into the Samsung VA panels. I have one and luckily I don't have too many dead pixel/backlight bleed issues but a lot of people do have those.
I will wait till April for LG 27GL850 to launch in India or else I will go for the BenQ EX2780Q

I have the Acer VG271U. It was a gamble but it paid off for me. Quite happy with it. No flickering, BLB etc. Runs 1440p/144 just fine. If you are buying from amazon, you can always exchange it if you get a dud.

All the displays barring the LG have the same innolux panel btw which seems to have not so great QC causing all these issues.

That is my only problem with the Acer 271/72 models.I have seen too many people complaining about those on newegg, reddit and amazon US

Was doing tp and thought to look for the lg monitor and guess what ! We have the lg 27gl850-b listed on lg India website [emoji7] though its coming soon, but at least it’s confirmed. Now only thing left is the 32” model I suppose the one now available is a VA panel 32gk850g.

Now lets see how this COVID situation pans out.

But I wished 32" ka hota ep model [emoji28]
They launched the 1 ms Nano-IPS monitors in 2 sizes 27 and 38 inches in 2019.

I think they announced follow-ups to these models for 2020 but we might be getting them after a year going by the Indian launch of the 27GL850.

Even i am sailing in the same boat, whether to get the BenQ+5700XT which will be like around 70-72k or Acer Predator 27+GTX2070S (this will be around 42k+45k=almost 90k). Or save the money and get a 4k TV which is atleast 100 Hertz. Alienware 34inch and Acer 34 inch are almost 1L+. X34p is coming at a steal i would say compared to Asus and Alienware @ 75k.

But then the 34inch are all 100/120Hertz (some overclocked). I know that LG launched a model with the same size and its @ 144Hertz but i dont think it will be sold here within this year.

48" LG OLED is coming this year with 120 Hz and G-Sync. Makes a perfect gaming monitor.
The price is 1500 USD which will be well north of 1 lakh if its released in India.
And the bugger will be too damn big for most desk setups. It would be awesome for a gaming console setup though,

Moreover now that I am seeing the insane specs of the upcoming consoles my RTX 2080 will be long in the tooth very soon once new games start being developed with Big Navi in mind.

BFGD are also there but they are fcking damn expensive. Checked the Asus PG65UQ and its for almost 3 Lakhs.
