B550 Motherboards available for purchase from pimeabgb

Not talking about this board, but in general talk, since last 4-5 yrs, they start quoting higher then others at Lemington Road (Mumbai).

Just 3 days before bought 1TB WD Blue for 3200/- while for same, primeabgb quote 3800/-

Motherboard prices seem so ridiculous nowadays with half decent boards costing 16k going up to 33k and beyond? Damn!

From the reviews that I have seen, the VRMs have been mostly better on the B550 as compared to the same model B450.

But the (Indian) pricing still is insane.

B550 motherboards (Asus & MSI) are now available on Primeabgb.com for purchase:

Those seem pricey but some of those do have the features and better VRM's, still OP though.
Have the prices increased since the pandemic ? I recollect seeing B450/X570 boards going for much lower and I was under the impression that no one will buy these over the x570s at these prices but I just checked and they (x570 pricing) seem higher than before.

When I last visited (somewhere in Jan) their prices were Rs 200-300 above market rate.

They literally quoted 1k more for a 1650 super, this was back in Feb. Unless you're looking for something sold exclusively by them, you can get better prices elsewhere if you can visit Lamington Road.

It's the same with those high-end gpu's, top end TI cards are over 1L now and it boggles my mind, at one point of time 50k used to be the max and even that was considered ridiculous.
MDcomputers for e.g., is giving 512 GB NVME drives with some 2080Tis, these AIB's should reduce the price instead of giving freebies.
These days only CPU prices seem reasonable, RAM too is still expensive thanks to RGB tax.

Experience in selling motherboards.
Dfi was the best, could not compete against other boards cos their manufacturing cost was higher due to components used. The PCB thickness also is lower. Lift the board in your hand you will know.

ok, thanks for update

but I heard that ASUS --- ASS is NOT GOOD
Asus and Asrock are some of the best I have used. Both my systems are around 7 odd years old and working fine. One has Asus and one has ASrock. Both were top end boards in their time.

The quality of products/ASS varies over time from different manufacturers, someone that produces good products ends up releasing a streak of shi**ty products and chooses the worst ASS partners for a period, this cycle keeps rotating IMO.

STRIX products aren't the same quality anymore, I've received 2 DOA GPU's from ASUS in the last 5 years and their TUF products are utter garbage going by personal experience with the FX504 laptop I bought for my brother, same goes for all the other TUF branded products as well, they are overpriced garbage targeted towards uninformed gamers. TUF branded products used to be good a decade ago but here we are.

I had a Gigabyte mobo that went kaput 3 years ago, their service center in Pune was staffed by just one clueless gutkha-eating technician but I did receive a new board within a month.

MSI has good products overall but their ASS was garbage, dunno how it is now but people had to get hold of that Rahul fellow to get things done.

Well I've had an expensive ASUS board crap out but Giga has been fine.. Having said that experience can vary unless you build 10+ systems a year..

In my case Asus ROG has been crap when it comes to BIOS updates.
I am talking about my experience with a Crosshair VI Hero.

I faced a bit of a hassle with MSI service center lying about the CPU socket damage for a DOA Z87 board as well.

My Gigabyte GTX 1070 and RTX 2080 have been rock solid though.

Thats why I skipped on MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio to go for the lower clocked but similarly priced Gigabyte Gaming OC model.

I was keenly looking at the Gigabyte Aorus Master B550 but I feel too lazy to do a full scale cable management again.

B550 is not exactly supposed to be a a B450 replacement going by the features and the VRM.
Rather its a replacement for X570 for folks who cannot stand the piddly chipset fan and don't need multiple PCI Gen4 lanes.

The VRMs on Gigabyte's Aorus Master surpass those on the X570 Master.

But still I feel this would not be a good buy for anyone on Ryzen 2000/3000 series as DDR5 will come into play with Ryzen 5000 in 2021 but thats just my 2 cents.

The Ryzen 4000 series chips are in a weird place though with them being the last DDR4 compatible CPUs.

I don't think AMD will put in a DDR5 capable controller on the chip for future proofing going by the roll they have been on recently.
