Hi guys
Seems our days of laptop viewing are to end soon as family is forcing to buy a tv since its the need of the hour esp. during lockdown.

Budget: Up to 23k
Screen size: Doesn't matter
Screen type: IPS
Resolution: FHD/UHD/4k whichever fits ebst in the budget (few brands VU were offering 4k in this bracket as well)
OS: Smart cum Pure Android (should be able to side-load apps)
Wifi: 5GHz a must.
Remote: BT or regular.
Brand: Trusted brands in the budget not a fanboy of anything. Just want hassle-free exp. Read horror reviews for tcl, one plus etc.
(might consider extended warranty protection plan given the current market)
Usage: TV viewing and occasional casting media from Android phones like videos, photos for viewing purpose.

Pro : stated "IPS Panel" , and 5Mhz

Not Sure about Playing 4K

+

Not Known : Support 2 TB HDD with USB and can be played without lag

Total : 17000+4000= 21000

OR

Waiting for user input for this model

Total : 20500

Please suggest which is best option ?

@ashish Hisense (OEM for Vu) was offering 5 years warranty on panel on TVs bought till yesterday. I have ordered 43" FHD from them.

@gcbeldar Sanyo one is good model. Before this Hisense TV offer of 5 years warranty, I had it shortlisted for my purchase. You can't go wrong with it.

For smart TV, Sanyo TV + Mi Box is better option.

43 HiSense Link Please

43" FHD - I have ordered this from Reliance Digital as their pricing was better.
I haven't heard about this brand. Seems its new and what if anything goes wrong, the service might be an issues even though 5 yrs panel warranty sounds promising.
@gcbeldar The VU model is problematic per reviews and VU themselves have agreed it. Wonder why do they still sell faulty models?

Does 4k really matters? We will be just watching Sd/HD channel coupled with HD movies from attached storage or phone. We are good with 32in as well but my intention is like getting the best in the budget hence 4k.

It is OEM brand for Vu. I had one of TV from this brand here in HK. It worked good for 3.5 years -all time I had it.

Playing 4k is one thing and experiencing 4k is another. Your TV may support or even claim that it plays 4k or its panel is 4k certified. But in that price bracket I won't be expecting mind blowing 4k experience.
If 4k is not a priority, settle for FHD screen(pretty matured) from VU/Hisense or Santo.
As vyral_143 pointed out, for Android experience, settle for an affordable smart settop boxes like Mibox.

What if I go for a full featured Android TV 32 in with all features, do I still need Mi box for any additional features? Can you highlight the same?

VU is a Californian brand and hisense provides them panel right?

As much as i have seen 4K becoming even more popular, i'm not sure how much of an actual good experience you will get out of a cheap 4K TV as tejas said. The LG 1080p 42 inch TV my father bought back in 2012 for 50,000(which isn't a small sum)is still good to this date, and the colors on it are really good, and only started noticing it when i went to a friend's house who had one of those sub 30k "4K" ones . And is it just me or are all of these new cheap chinese displays just not up to standard? I heard praises about the MI 4K TV but i was really disappointed when i saw it in the showroom, the colors were dull and wow, i could see everyone's reflection (which i hope was just the lighting). Personally i have always seen a TV set as an investment which you will make once hence it's one of those rare items i would never cheap out on as it's not like a phone which you can ditch now and then, it stays stuck in your living room and will for a long time. I can understand that you may not be able to shell out 50K just like that but if you do, believe me if it's from a good brand you will be good for another decade or so :p

My reason for suggesting Mi box was only to enable sideloading of apps. If any feature rich TV ticks all your boxes, then do go for it.
I would have suggested one plus and Realme (1+ TV is Android based) ,but your earlier posts show you are not willing to go with new brands. So the only respectable brands were Vu, Sanyo, Samsung, LG. I am not suggesting Mi TV coz I am sure corners will be cut to keep the price down.
You will have to prioritize what you expect from the TV and see which fits them all.
Another reason to get a smart box is having extra ports and connections incase the ones on your TV goes bad.

Whichever TV you finalise, do try to get a first hand view from malls, showrooms.

Bingo... The exact reason why I ditched 1+ and went for Samsung + Smart box when both cost me 1lakh. It's an investment in a reputable brand. Both the panels were from Samsung but the ones from Samsung looked a lot better than 1+.

My family is against Chinese stuff esp. due to the recent anti-stir.

Sanyo been Japanese will it be a good buy? Nowhere they have mentioned if its Android absed or pure android. Can someone help confirm it? As my prime long term motive will be to sideload apps without Mi box etc additional requirement.

And who services Sanyo, I heard Panasonic but not sure about their service ventures.

I wonder hows it compare to Vu or Hisense.

Else my only options are in Samsung, LG or Sony.

Sanyo one is good buy. It is not smart TV so you have to get separate media box. AFAIK, it is serviced by Panasonic.

But does reliance offers same 5 yr warranty? And for how much did you got it?
Extended warranty is not available any more. I got it for 19K.

1GB RAM is on lower side. But since this TV is for my parents - they would use Chromecast most times. It should do fine for that use-case. I already have a Chromecast - in case Hisense one performs sluggish. I went for it mainly for 5 years warranty on panel - paid premium of about 3.5K over Sanyo (available on Amazon for 17K - 1500 SBI discount)

For smart TV, Sanyo TV + Mi Box is better option.
