Budget 0-20k Monitor : preferably 144hz 1440p HRD - No Curve

Disciple
My current one is a 8 years old FHD 60Hz Dell.

GPU: I have a 1070 FE.

144hz 1440p is my target.
HDR support would be awesome too.
FreeSync /G-Sync preferred. I think 1070 supports both.

Can do with even less than 144hz. (Modern games won't even run at this FPS)

But my budget is not that flexible. Would love to have something under 15K. Max stretch 20K. max 22K??

144hz / 1440p or at least one of these. Any difference in 120hz vs 140hz ? is above 100hz ok/acceptable trade off?

Regarding VESA mounts. I am not sure. My current one doesn't have em. And I don't have any plans. So at most, a good to have feature.

### Any recommendations?

Size: Anything aabove or at 21 inch would do.

I was looking at these two FHD Displays:

I think the adjustable height is the only difference.

There was a deal on Acer XV272U monitor for under 20k last month. If you can wait you can get that for 24k normal price+ any Bank discounts when it comes in stock from appario seller in Amazon. It's a great panel and provides best value at that price. Only thing is some get bad panel with dead pixels. I guess many have bought it during that sale in this forum too so you can ask around for their reviews. I'm attaching monitor and review links if you're interested.

Review : Rtings link

Go for IPS panel monitor colors are bright natural and vivid TN panels have washed off color

These Two are best in 15 to 21K range

MSI G241 17.5K
And Benq ex2510

I was in the market for same have been researching since 2 3 days , have personally ordered Benq ex 2510 from amazon

This looks great for under 20K. I will probably wait for a deal.

how would this compare to it?

Delivered Yet? BenQ EX2510 looks awesome. I was hoping for 1440p. But at 24inch, 1080p is good.

27 inch 1080p (~ 88 pixel density) for 22K outs me off.

Thank you all for your suggestion.

I went for the Cheapest decent option for now. Samsung LF24T350FHWXXL 75hz

I hope the 25% more frame rate keeps me happy till I upgrade to 1440p 144hz.

I dug up my current monitor specs too: https://www.dell.com/ae/p/peripherals/dell-s2240l/pd

Don't know what price it is available at now but I got the LG 32GK650F for 20.3k earlier in the year. Realised that my pre-conceived notions about pixel density and size were unfounded. A lot of people just put up comments based on other's comments but real-life usage is something different.

I have a RTX 2060, so not as if I am going to hit the FPS for newer games but it is easy to do so at 2K for most games older than 4 years which is a treat. Even newer games like Hitman 3 runs at close to 80 FPS at 2K on High, so limiting monitor specs because of current hardware specs often makes little sense.

So FreeSync doesn't work on Nvidia 1070 FE over HDMI. Is that correct? Need DP. Any workarounds?

@t3chg33k how is the experience with LG 32GK650F, as u mentioned real-life usage, as it is a TN PANEL, the color depth will not match HDR IPS panel, so what is your verdict,

I have 4 models in-line to be bought, i mean only one of them, budget user i am,

27 inch IPS 144Hz or more HDR 400 nits or HDR 10

32 inch VA Panel 144Hz+ HDR 400

In my web(re)search ;P i found these monitors are the best with good HDR nits and good color gamut as in 2021.

also a best monitor must exhibit HDR 600 nits, but as of now, no Manufacturers have such model in REALITY.

comments are welcome.

The 32GK650F is a VA panel. It is decent for colour work as it is 99% sRGB but offers nearly 3000:1 contrast ratio while most IPS panels cannot go beyond 1000:1. The viewing angles are not a concern for a monitor. For gaming, I can live with a 4ms response time instead of 1ms.

On the TV side, most top-end non-OLED panels are VA panels, so they are absolutely worth it in terms of quality. On the other hand, I wouldn't touch a TN panel with a pole.

Sorry for little OT
You'd be surprised how some good TN panels are compared to IPS ones!
I was of the same opinion that TN is just plain bad but after using a TN panel for two years now , the only drawback is contrast which is little worse than IPS panels but the viewing angles are comparable to VA panels. What surprised me are the colours which are equally good as IPS panels and even better than some cheap IPS panels.

The gigabyte and Acer one has very bad backlight bleeding, Asus has good colours but has little bad backlight bleeding. Benq one has good black uniformity with little backlight bleeding compared to others but the colours are not as good as Asus one but it's not far off either.
It's also possible to get worse panels from benq or Asus depending on their QC. Buy only from Amazon and pray you get a good one.

I've got a Acer laptop once with way worse backlight bleed and fortunately got refund

tks @t3chg33k u know what , it has been listed as TN PANEL in the attached site. :p, so you are right!!! it is a VA Panel.
u mean overall the experience is good for you. i am not writing off TN Panel as @rockstah has some good opinion about it.
i am now confused 1000:1 contrast ratio is better or 3000:1,
4ms is not good, it gives blur or cloudy rendering in realworld motion in games.
1ms will make it smooth and keeps reality in tact.

i have used BENQ VA Panel with 4ms MPRT, SDR. Color is good in fact very good, block uniformity is nice, but after watching IPS panel with it's color vibrancy, i found IPS is fantastic. i Have not experienced HDR in VA PANEL yet, that could also be a reason.

Now coming back to LG, is it HDR and what is its CDM in reality? please say something about it, post some pics about it, if u says it's good i have ideas to buy it.

tks @rockstah for your valuable inputs, i wanted to go for ACER on budget constraints, but there are 2 including u have recommended ASUS, BENQ is a second choice, but ASUS is premium, i personally have good experience with BENQ, is one fantastic monitor, and comes under budget, but this model which i referred is expensive than ASUS i reckon. Gigabyte HDR CDMs are level up than ASUS, slightly.

Can u list out some good TN panel monitors which are better than IPS ones, i am really interested to go for it, if it falls under budget, obviously TN panels are less expensive, which will be a huge boost for me to go for it. Does TN Panels support HDR, as i have not seen in the Monitor SPECS so far anywhere, like HDR is invisible in TN Panels.

Moreover, u meant to tell me to buy only from AMAZON attaching prayers to get a good monitor, or u have any other SELLING POINTs where i could buy items without offering prayers.

What is your budget? For HDR you can only get IPS/VA but HDR in these panels are tbh useless. As for getting a good panel, nothing can help you, some people get panels with dead pixels but not able to replace it as most brand's policy regarding it is it's normal to have 5 dead pixels. Same goes for blacklight bleeding you won't get any support from the brand in most cases, only choice is to get replacement from Amazon, if they still do it.
Even benq which has a zero dead pixel policy in other countries doesn't have it in India. Monitors are tricky

there u go ! Real world issues, HDR is accomodated only with IPS/VA , i agree, but u say these panels are useless, what does that mean,? lets go deeper, HDR is really an eye candy if it goes beyond 600 Nits that is scientifically 600 cd/m2, that implies HDR can really be experienced with full potential only when the panels exhibit 600 Nits, as of now, i dont c any panel is offering 600 Nits as i know. and it is the basic, and the nits can even reach beyond 1000 , but i am not sure how safe our eyes are with such brightness practically for a continued viewing, so 400 nits is the best bet. IMHO.

From your point of view, Monitors are coming with dead pixel fault, that's kinda hurting for a consumer isn't it??? dont they have QC Or Panels manufacturing is defective, that is so negative, Now i have seen premium HDR 27" Monitors are around the price range of 35K, and as we discussed budget ones like ACER are hitting 25K, so u can predict easily that i can afford 25k for a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR 400/600, IPS Given the brand is fault tolerant or have good RMA system in place, but after reading your comments i am taken aback should i invest such funds on luck or live with dissatisfaction with dead pixel .......... that's giving me a bad taste

Hey sorry for being blunt, what I meant is while 400 nits is bare minimum for HDR, it's not enough to make things pop and with the low contrast ratio it's not enough to enjoy HDR.
As for dead pixels it's kinda rare as most brand's have good QC, try to contact Amazon support and ask if they do replacements for dead pixels. Backlight bleeding is normal for IPS panels it just depends on how worse you get it, some minimal in the corners can be considered normal.

If dead pixels are present on unpacking day, does the monitor automatically become responsible for a replacement (generally speaking), or is it subject to company discretion?

For Amazon they used to replace it easily but now I'm not sure, you can check with Amazon customer care to be sure. As it's not considered manufacture defect it's very much possible to not get any support if you have less than 3 dead pixels.
