If only for gaming, watching HD movies etc, stick to present quad itself. Not a wise upgrade to core i-5. Invest the money in some bank and try to splash out the money later . Well its my opinion. if u want to go for it but atleast core i-7. :)

ya buddy i7 860 might be performing near to i7 920. But 860 is not available here. So going for 920 now. thanks for the suggestions. :)

^^^thanks mate. That really helped me taking a decision. i ve decided to compromise on monitor and GPU for now. Will save some money and go for 58xxx series later.
I am really confused whether to go for P55 or X58 mobo. A really good P55 mobo would cost me around 10K or even higher and also X58 mobo, the MSI X58 PRO-E is around 11K i think plus it would be future proof i guess. :S

But i would like to know,whether the corsair TX 650 would be enough if i am using 5850 in crossfire. And is i7 860 widely available in india now?
And i7 920 has more bus speed than i7 860. Does that make a difference in rendering and multitasking? As i am a newbie...
oh and i might buy the GPU later if its not coming in my budget. And i will be selling d present rig ( + Creative Inspire 4.1 speakers + Epson CX 1500 which i forgot to include in d thread) and getting nearly 10K.
