    CPU: AM2 is the future, but it is not available in India yet, let alone Kochi MB: VM-CSM is a good solution if you are looking for IGP LCD: Dell is offering some good deals - check them out. 740N is also good. PSU: Antec 350W may not be sufficient if you plan to get a GFX.

    You can get a Inspiron 6400(which is e1505) with the following config for less than 65K C2D T2300 15.4" LCD 1GB 667 Mhz Ati X1400 256MB 80GB 5400 DVD burner + the regular I don't know about the build quality of this model specifically, but Dell in general has a decent build quality.

    Dell Ultrasharp screen has a higher resolution than HP's screen, so if you are comparing 6400 and 5200TX you should downgrade screen in Inspiron. Also 5200TX comes with a 6 cell battery. But 5200TX has 100GB. In the end 5200TX might turn to be cheaper by a slight margin.
