Is anyone on iPhone using google drive instead of iCloud?

I have a basic iCloud subscription, 50 GB/Rs 75 per month. I share with two others in the family. This is mostly for device backups. All other data, files, photos etc are stored in Google Drive/Google Photos. Since your use case is for photo backup, Google Photos work great on iPhone. Syncing...

Apple Recent launches - a few questions

@tr27 Yes, I think it should work. Choose the max possible EMI duration 24 months, and cancel the EMI later by calling ICICI customer care.

Apple Recent launches - a few questions

@tr27 That's for the Air right? Not pro. If you use the NCEMI trick with an ICICI card, you can order it from Apple directly for 76k or so. Pretty decent price I'd say.

ACT Fibernet silently cuts FUP from 3300GB to 1500GB

@bssunilreddy Due to many exploits targeting such routers running the publicly known default passwords, most operators install custom firmware which changes the password to a customised one for the operator or based on the mac address or serial of the device. For example, I got a Netlink device...

ACT Fibernet silently cuts FUP from 3300GB to 1500GB

Not any person, but the local cable operator or BSNL, whoever gave you the connection. It's quite possible that they just updated to a newer firmware which comes with non-default passwords. I think if you ask them, they will provide it.

    Dishwasher suggestion

If anybody was on the fence for purchasing the Midea dishwasher, it's again available on Flipkart for around 15k after all discounts and NCEMI cancellation. A relative was interested, and I helped placing the order today. There was also an extra Rs 750 off coupon by redeeming 100 FK SuperCoins...

    Pls suggest BLDC Fan?

I had purchased 5 Atomberg Renesa fans for our new apartment in late 2023 (installed in early 2024). I am personally happy with Atomberg Renesa, I like the aesthetic look, and we mostly run it at speed 3 provides decent air flow, and at speed 3, it uses around 10w. I've been using Renesa fans...

Help me buy an inverter and battery for a 2bhk in Bengaluru

This is a decent unit that I had got in 2023, the main reason I got it is due to the smart features. You can see the power consumption, charge status etc. I got the battery separately, 165 AH Genus brand. For installation, if there is an inverter point already, it would be plug and play...

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

@smnrock I have two units in bridge mode and it works well, never had to do any tinkering specific to bridge mode. I did have static DHCP reservation in place from the very beginning. The only issue that I saw is, once it established a wireless backhaul link with the secondary instead of using...

@Rezep Correct. It would need to be activated with a plan for the timer to start though. But you don’t need to keep the plan active after the first month.

@kuduku I use the Tapo Smart Plug, I like it. The stock UI/App is good, and we can also connect it to HomeAssistant. Regarding the Tapo Switch, the only thing that came to my mind is compatibility with face plates and internal box sizes that is used in India. Personally, I prefer internal smart...

This is really cool, I wish they refreshed the hex s too. Looks like the new hex refresh is already available in India - https://fgtechstore.com/product/mikrotik-e50ug-the-classic-hex-refresh/ It's a bit different, yes, but once you get familiarised a bit, it is pretty straight forward. I...

I personally use a Mikrotik hap ac2 as router (has only 256 MB RAM, wireless disabled), its rock solid, haven't touched for ages (uptime itself is some 5-6 months), just works. Does failover pretty decently. Prior to that at another location was running an x86 unit with OpenWRT as the primary...
