@murdock The extension board may protect against surges, but I don't think it manages power fluctuations. If your old laptop battery is not totally gone, it would be better to keep it in and then use it with AC power. Wait for some other members to give you better help.

@murdock Yes, you can use the laptop without the battery by directly using AC power. The reason it is not advised to do this is that if there is a power surge, it could damage the laptop components. And a sudden power loss means any unsaved data is lost. I wish phones / tablets would also boot...

Is there a bluetooth adapter that you can plug your wired usb keyboard into so that it can be connected to a device using bluetooth (instead of connecting the wire)? I saerched on Amazon but the results were all for a bluetooth usb dongle that you plug into a device.
