Budget 51-70k Laptop for Architectural Rendering and Video Editing

I'm skeptical about the Asus service. Is it any good? And, they keep upgrading the model every month or so. A new K55 pops up with a new codenumber. Its painstaking to see a model we've zeroed on going out of stock within days. We are insisted to draught by hand for the first 4 compulsively, or...

Budget 51-70k Laptop for Architectural Rendering and Video Editing

Yes, I am. I'm at hostels, and buying a laptop for a semester's thesis ain't a good idea. Its better to have a laptop which can last for a good 3-4 years keeping in mind the higher education prospects. If I'd get pro-graphics for 10k extra which is worth it, I don't mind. What do you think about...

Budget 51-70k Laptop for Architectural Rendering and Video Editing

Vray with Max works much faster than Revit's generic rendering engine. We worked on a Dell XPS (i7 1st generation back in 2010) to get it done, and we had to sleep for 10 hours after we got tired of staring at the pixels for 2 hours. Main reason why I'm looking for expert advice. Even Alienware...

Budget 51-70k Laptop for Architectural Rendering and Video Editing

Thank you very much for the valuable input! :D So, what is the basic difference between the Gaming and the Workhorse laptops? Is 4 gig RAM enough or should I definitely go for 8 GB? i5 with HM77 will be better than i7 with HM76? How do I strike the right balance? And, the only workstation I...

Budget 51-70k Laptop for Architectural Rendering and Video Editing

Adding two vital questions. 1. I had the Asus K55 series laptops as the benchmark. Anything that is better than that would make a great deal. Here is a flipkart comparison chart. 2. I don't want to start an AMD vs nVidia war here. I'm biased towards the nVidia though I have an AMD powered HTPC...

Budget 51-70k Laptop for Architectural Rendering and Video Editing

Hello TE-ians! I've been shamelessly using the website to ask for recommendations or purchases. Built a HTPC and I'm 101% satisfied with what I achieved with the very minimal budget. Bought a PS3 as well as sold it here. Has helped me a lot. I'll take this as a chance to thank the guys behind...

    Dead Cheap HTPC configuration

Folks, aryanraj @chetansha I did a Win7 fresh install and installed XBMC alone. Nothing else. Did the tweaking, updating and library edits and gave the same 1080p and 720ps for a run. Flawless. I don't know how or why, but it worked. And, I tried with a VLC again, same stutters. KM same...

    Dead Cheap HTPC configuration

Thanks for the heads up, but the same AMD e350 works well as a HTPC for so many others without such mods. why not mine? when i use the same TV to play the same videos off a laptop or a ps3? And, as I mentioned already, I'm a noob and installing Linux is too complicated for me!

I'm interested in UC2, but 750+shipping is almost the price of a new disc which comes for 1.1k. Looking for a trade? I have Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition. If you're interested, I'll put up pics.

    Dead Cheap HTPC configuration

I had used a Compaq Pavillion dv4 (2112 TU) earlier via HDMI to play the exactly same videos without any glitch. But now, I am facing severe problems with 720p videos. And, to clarify, the feature tab in the specifications on the official webpage it mentions 1080p Source Input HDMI (60/30/24p)...

    Dead Cheap HTPC configuration

Sorry for gravedigging. Thanks for all the replies so far. Didn't buy the HDD so far and used a generic Intex cabinet to keep the rig safe. I managed to squeeze some cash for a Cooler Master Elite 361 and a 1 TB Seagate Cuda HDD and set it up this weekend. So my configuration stands as: Asus...
