Sold my 2 of 3 1080TIs and made around 70k, and I am planning of buying the 3080. Should I buy the founders edition or a third party card? [buying in canada]

Wait for reviews may be ? FE have newer design on cooling, though marketed as better but let reviews assess it and confirm/deny it.
yeah bro, but imma little worried that the third party cards will be priced as same:(, and I can’t wait till the big navi release tho:p

third party would be a better deal , go for the ones who provide global warranty
Isn't evga the only brand which gives global warranty? Even then it's a pain in the ass if you were to send it for rma ( ship to taiwan, having to deal with custom officials, permissions to not get slapped by custom duties etc).

That’s correct, it’s one heck of a process:hungover:

If i were you i would personally feel like getting it from evga, depending on your personal experience with their cards. If i had no problems with a brand and they still offer good AIBs, i see no reason to jump ship. Plus i would kinda feel more secured with an evga card in India even if the process to rma is hard, atleast you have a cheaper way than going to canada and back. Do post pics of your gpu once you decide upon one @Mello

Yeah man, I’m a fan of Evga from the beginning, and I already planned of buying their 3080. Can’t wait to see it in action:cool:

EVGA are brilliant. I had their 8800GT back in the day. Rock solid card and top tier performance.

But yeah customs n stuff can be a pain with their warranty part.

Back then sourcing them through the GO's by KMD on E made access to it easy

i think u should wait for NVIDIA to launch 3080 series with more VRAM , upcoming AAA games may need more VRAM and GDDR6X can transfer double the data , don't forget u are paying a premium , and wait for the reviews too

I had one bad experience with evga. Two 8800 ultras, both dead in a year. Otherwise things are good.
I’ve been using their cards for a long time and I haven’t had any major issues except a small increase in the thermals, which I fixed by swapping the thermal pads sent by them. Overall they are way more worthy than Asus cards.

Asus have gone completely batshit insane with their pricing strategy across their products.

I remember they used to be VFM. Now they're just ridiculous

20 series FE user here. With some 3080 FE reviews out already, seems nvidia is making full use of all the gpu space and stacking it with as many fins as possible. also their fans on both sides cross flow cooling is surprisingly effective as per tech youtubers.

Board partners will come up with triple fan designs for it citing the monstrous power draw, Personally i like to see my card light up with the official nvidia approved logo, No rainbow fountains. :)
