Home Networking help needed : Dual Band wifi router to work with Jio/Airtel 150-200mbps plan.

Hi,

I am currently on a Hathway 150mbps connection, with a ZTE Optical Modem with Gbe Port , attached to a D-Link DIR-615 (2.4ghz wifi router, with 100mbps Ports)
Needless to say, I am not getting the full 150mbps bandwidth.
It varies, i get upto 70-80+ on my TP, through wireless and 90+ on D-Link Ethernet port.

I wish to change my connection to a Jio or an Airtel 150-200mbps plan.

My house has Cat6 cabling done in 3 rooms , with termination at the terrace.
This is where I would be asking the Jio/Airtel guys to lay their cabling from their Junction boxes and attach their ONT Modem in a cabinet like this (https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07KWR3DHG/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A2K4UVV7PEP9L5&psc=1) - would heat be an issue in this?

I then intend to use the Gbe Port on their device to bring a Gigabit connection to each of the 3 rooms at Ground Floor.

In one of the 3 rooms, where the CAT6 cables terminate, I wish to use a Dual Band Wifi router to connect my TV, HTPC etc through wireless.

This router should be able to accept the above WAN connection through a GBe port and distribute it through 5Ghz wirelessly.
I also would like my Netgear WN3000RP extender to work with this. (https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-range-extenders/WN3000RP.aspx)

I have very limited networking skills so would prefer something ease to use. I would like to spend upto 3K for this.

Request you guys to kindly help with your suggestions.

Thanks in advance !

I have very limited networking skills
1. TP-Link Archer C6 Gigabit MU-MIMO Wireless Router
2. TP-Link AC1750 Smart WiFi Router Archer A7
3. TP-Link AC1200 Archer A6 Smart WiFi, 5GHz Gigabit Dual Band MU-MIMO Wireless Internet Router, Long Range
4. TP-Link Archer C80 AC1900 Dual Band Wireless, Wi-Fi Speed Up to 1300 Mbps/5 GHz + 600 Mbps/2.4 GHz, Full Gigabit, High-Performance WiFi, 1.2GHz CPU, MU-MIMO Router
5.
other options are tenda ac10, ac8 etc
choose any one of the above router based on your budget.

Do you think it will be okay if i ask Jio to put their ONT device in a box on the terrace ? or should it be shielded from heat etc
What exactly is the difference between Archer A6 /C6?

Also, any comparable options from Netgear , D-link, CISCO ?

you can try these also

jio gives it's own router, whether you want it or not and it is supposed to be used indoors only. so would be good if you shield from sun and rain and put it inside cabinet with proper ventilation and with power connection.
as far as router is concerned. whatever you will be buying will work as a switch cum access point and can't be used as router anymore as jio does not gives any user name /password for ppoe connection.

Also Jio has very bad latency and speed fluctuates a lot. Airtel has rather better latency. rest you can check jio as it is giving free 1st month. you can try it out. keep it if you feel it works for you. otherwise just ask them to remove the connection and your full security will be refunded.(but ask them to cancel the connection in week advance before expiry of free period).

nothing much differ in tp-link archer A6/C6. one is sold offline as well as online i.e. C6 and A6 is sold online only. one benefit of tp link archer A6/C6 is that it can be used in mesh wifi connectivity with other dual band wifi repeater.

there are routers with fiber ports on e which i am aware of is Archer XR500v , but jio fact is true ,you cannot change the router provided by them

Got Jio installed - speeds are fine- 150mbps consistent- but there seems to be a certain amount of lag or whenever I click on any Youtube/OTT video.
Once it starts, they never buffer though..

Jio's latency is a bit poor hence it lags, this is the reason I'm waiting for airtel in my location whereas Jio guys are ready to install it same day.
congrats you're getting consistent 150Mbps.

Airtel is the best. Have been using for a month, no lags or anything.

Saying that, why can't u try jio 1month trail, if available in your area. You are getting it free, so nothing to lose

It may be a free trial for a month but still I don't bother for the installation and setup stress. Already using 100mbps airtel provided by some private service provider.
