What exactly is Government of India doing?

Could you link some? I haven't been paying attention too closely.

Clouting is in few hours anyways so we will get to know soon enough.
I won't believe until I see the results... The exit poll was carried by TimesNow and Republic, the greatest epitomes when it comes to journalism.
Well the media companies don't do polls themselves, they are get data from other polling agencies. Media companies are just to show those numbers to the viewers.

I dunno man, the hat and long beard are growing on me. Kinda like a mash-up of mr. india and tom alter.

I think he should officially get into bollywood soon. He's already a damn good actor...

Didn't Nithyananda actually start a new country on some Island or something?

I was waiting for his tigers and monkeys to start talking as he promised.

I am sure someone will say this economic crisis is due to Nehruji..
I am not surprised especially after whatever is happening with Laxmi Vilas Bank.
What concerns more is that lbanks with good balance sheets are coerced to take over loss making ones pulling down the good banks. At the end of day it is you and me who suffer.

Anyone saw or heard of this?

Edit: pasting here a bit of text from the link.
Explaining how the system will work, the report suggested identifying and sequentially numbering streets using a fixed alphanumeric format. For instance, in a code like ‘AGC – 270 – 234’, AGC would be the area code/village code, followed by the street number (270) and the house number (234).

The report cited another example of this format, which was the New Delhi Municipal Council’s idea and has already tested it out.

“STS 100 138 instead of Mahaveer Shiva Shakti Mandir, Airport Authority of India, Safdarjung Airport Road, Satya Sadan, New Delhi, NCT of Delhi, 110003”.

Glanced, but didn't bother to read. Too many experiments going on in the country. Besides, when the govt says its beneficial, I pretend I didn't hear that. Or rather, benefits the govt more than the people.
I am in for changes as long as people are made part of decision making. This top-down, one-size fit all method of shoving decisions doesn't bode well for anyone.

I think it's a weird way to identify places. But it will take away what ministers and some fringe groups used to fight in local state assembly used to do to waste time - rename streets. It would make it faster to write addresses too I guess. Easier to find places on a map too. But all this will cost money. They will have to redo the name plates that roads have now.

The report says :
"It is estimated that many delivery persons waste 20% of their time locating the address and end up calling the person"
All of us have experienced this!
So It is a good initiative but like all government initiatives, we need to see how they actually implement this.

Anyone saw or heard of this?

i think its really helpful when you have same "Building/society" name in same area/road.. i really facing this issue. my delivery person always went to other same name "building/society".
