From today November 27, 2020 , India will officially be in recession
This will mark the first time in India's history that it plunges into recession, Modi hai toh mumkin hai !!

Official data published on Friday showed gross domestic product for the July-September quarter fell by 7.5% compared to the same period last year, when the economy was growing by more than 4%.
That follows a record drop of nearly 24% in GDP in the April-June period, the first quarter of India's fiscal year.

Was expected. But to this govt's good luck (again), the sheer size of the economy and the workforce plus the systemic structure of unaccounted wealth will ensure the downside recovery will be quick too. And that will be exploited to the maximum by the selfish forces to showcase another success of "fastest and best" recovery of any covid affected country ever.

Politicians like corporate brands always love the public's short term memory loss and absolutely adore long term amnesia.

no offence but you don't seem to understand what a GDP is and how its calculated ( the real financial formula, not the political one).

The point I have highlighted after 2005 clearly looks the subsequent year is less than the previous year. Isn't gdp contracting what you are looking for?

No it needs to be 2 subsequent quarters. If you're doing a YOY comparison, then the 2007 bar needs to be lower than the 2006 bar.

Unfortunately recession is not measured by the number of iphones or Maruthi's sold.

Correct the situation is not great there, very very few new trucks being sold here. I recently bought 10 but only because i sold same no of old ones. Need to to stay in business.

The future is not great. I, we had US green card, which we surrendered because i personally didn't want to leave my comfort zone. Now married and with a daughter i regret it.

Its not just Govt, the mentality of public has gone to pits. **** everyone else do what you need to do to survive. **** morality or being honorable.

Hush you non believer what do you know about importance of Ram Lalla, Gau mata and Prayag, all the while fighting these love jihadis.
And of course we are all here able to survive and participate because our beloved father of the modern India handled the covid situation so promptly and so well.

1. Importing goods/hobbyists stuff is impossible - only retailers or large organizations can import. Imagine the days prior to 2014 (especially after DeMo and GST) when ppl used to easily order stuff from outside which was either not available or available at sky-high prices.
2. Proposals for floating companies but no job creations
3. Proposals to create the multi-lane highways but poor laborer's don't have roads that will take them to their homes.
4. Sold the public sector undertaking to private or private entity running public services on trial basis.

The list can be endless and keeps on going.
