One of the last components from my abandoned workstation project, a new in box power supply. The original owner purchased a 1050w Seasonic with a 7 year warranty back in February of 2014 and claimed warranty in 2019. Seasonic sent this as a replacement. So technically, while this would normally have a 10 years left of its 12 year warranty, it only has one month left. Pricing is based on the fact that a new one sells for over 13k. I'll include the original 2014 invoice as well as the warranty replacement invoice (attached here). It's been unused for the year or so I've had it, just randomly connected for motherboard testing every now and then. There's no dust accumulation anywhere, and most cables are untouched.

I'll test the power supply and send you a bios screen of the voltages before I send it out. It would be packed securely, but if you don't like it for any reason, you'll have to return it at your expense and I'll refund your payment minus the original shipping & packing charges. Sorry, I've had a buyer with unrealistic expectations about deeply discounted second hand hardware insisting on a return or partial refund for the most trivial of issues in a non-standard use case. If there's a legitimate issue like being dead or defective, I'll refund immediately and arrange for a return courier at my own expense. I'm not a reseller, I'm an enthusiast.

I can deliver personally and install it in your system anywhere within Hyderabad city limits.

He will not. Be very careful guys. I offered to courier at my expense and he refused and was not ready to give full refund but minus Rs 500.

From the post above he still thinks selling graphics card with a dead fan is ok. Please understand IT IS NOT OK to sell graphics card with a dead fan.

fan bearing of one fan was bad and no it won't go bad in shipping, this is a trivial issue for him. 50% and above fan speed a non-standard use case according to him.

Now to use the graphics card, I had to remove the defective fan and has attached case fan on it. On the top of it this guy thinks I had a deal, even with a 500 refund I don't think its worth the headache and my time. I was at peace and he makes this post of buyer with unrealistic expectations, just wow. Yes, I was so looking forward to buy a strix card and attaching case fan on it, I must tone down my expectations.

He has such a hard time understanding a bad fan, it blows my mind.

You are just lucky I didn't give you negative feedback.

Lucky? Wow. You're something else. Have you forgotten that we both have copies of the private messages we send each other? But okay, since you want to expose how difficult of a person you are to deal with, it's only fair that you're honest about the facts.

The facts are that both of the fans work fine at stock settings and the card does not thermally throttle at full Furmark load. Full stop. Let me repeat. No fan issues when fan speed is at 100% under Auto. My testing video shows this, your testing video shows this. You claim the fan is dead somehow when you set a custom fan curve, presumably while mining. This is by definition a non-standard use case of a graphics card. Especially one that you paid a ridiculously low price for, compared to market rates and for the new-in-box condition it was in.

I offered a refund minus a 400 for shipping. Since technically, there is nothing wrong with the card. It's all in your head and your custom fan curves (again, presumably) for your mining application. Your claim of a "bad fan" and a "dead fan" is based on a 2 degrees difference between the two cards I had for sale. Frankly, you're deluded.

In the end, you strong armed a refund of 500 out of me, effectively making your purchase price (including shipping) Rs 6250 for a brand new in box Asus RX 570 4GB OC. Not a single person in this forum is going to say you got a bad deal.

In retrospect, I should've taken it as a warning sign that you originally wanted to purchase both cards for 1000 off the already low asking price.

You're no enthusiast, you're a miner and I regret having to deal with you.

Someone far more grateful was deserving of that graphics card.

He will not. Be very careful guys.

I have refunded another member his entire payment within hours of his claim that the item I sold him was not detected in his system. His claim was easy to verify and valid. You, on the other hand, just wanted a lower purchase price to get a better ROI on your mining operation. Presumably. I still don't understand how any enthusiast would willingly cut out a fan of a new graphics card and install a case fan as you claim you did, when there's no thermal issues whatsoever.

Now please, I've made it clear I do not wish to deal with you, so now I'm asking you to leave this thread. You were unnamed in my original post but you decided to expose yourself as the person referenced by me. Since that has been accomplished, I don't see what purpose you have left here.

Card second run after receiving, anything above 50% fan speed, fan bearings making sound and progressively irritating.

At 50-75% fan speed, the defective fan runs ~10% or so and eventually started run-stop with sound, I didn't set any custom fan curves only manual speed. This is day 1 of running the card. The first run test at auto anyone would think the fan is alright because it ran at very low speed.

I'll refund immediately and arrange for a return courier at my own expense
why do you make false claim to sell your defective goods then? just say you will not refund and you will eat the buyer brains out if the buyer had any issues. I suspect you are looking newbies to fall for your defective goods and whom you can sweet talk with enthusiast grade knowledge, who can't understand a basic fan whose bearings have gone bad. This guy must be thinking what bearings?

Card price was decided by you.

how any enthusiast would willingly cut out a fan of a new graphics card and install a case fan
so that it can operate normally and not make weird sounds every 5 seconds? is this really hard to understand and you call yourself enthusiast?

By that time after talking to you I understood the warranty was fake, because you could have accepted return in that case and I was on my own. Asus official warranty check shows warranty expired.

People wish me luck I want to mine with 4gb cards.

Anyone wants a very good deal of strix card + bring your own case fan. Contact me I will sell you at the same price I got.

I'm going to block/ignore you after this message. It's not personal, I just don't like you.

Warranty for that card is by CEX, as made clear in my sale thread. And warranty is valid for either a replacement or a voucher worth Rs 8000. And I offered to help with warranty claims if anything should happen to the card during the remaining period. A card that does not thermally throttle or does not have excessive fan noise at stock settings is not covered by their warranty. Since I'm blocking/ignoring you now, and that you've mutilated the card, there is no point to any warranty.

The graphics card works fine at stock settings. No thermal issues. No noise issues. Fan ran at 100% speed under 100% GPU load with Auto settings during Furmark with no issues. Your custom fan curves are messed up, if at all that is the issue. Perhaps you saw that I sold the Sapphire RX 570 for 5750 and you developed buyer's remorse and wanted a lower price for yourself so you invented this issue. I have no idea why God made you an enemy of your own brain.

The rest of your accusations are baseless, as evidenced by my low prices and easy negotiations for genuine members looking to buy hardware at fair prices.

And I offered to help with warranty claims if anything should happen to the card during the remaining period.

what a genuine and caring guy, refusing to return on day 1 and you are willing to help with third party warranty claims of out of warranty cards. You must have known about the fan issue all along.

Also, notice how he is branding me a miner while he is the one selling lot of 4gb mining cards as specified in his listings.

Members, this how you deflect, learn it from this guy, he seems to be the expert on it, just blame the buyer.

I still don't like you, but I've temporarily unblocked/unignored you to bring some light to a couple of your lies.

People wish me luck I want to mine with 4gb cards.

Here's a screencap from the video you sent me on Sunday:

Screenshot_2021_0127_120058.jpg

Why would you have a USB/PCIe riser installed if you weren't mining? I feel such deep regret in selling that graphics card to you.

refusing to return on day 1

Another lie. You received it, you tested it, you left positive feedback. Some days later, after I post about the lower cost Sapphire RX 570, you invent this issue to get some money back from me to improve your ROI.

I mean, it's just so unnecessary. You got a good deal, and then you got greedy. We could've been friends but now you're that new toothpaste flavour that I regret trying out.

And with that, I'm going to block/ignore you again.

So did I hide it? I don't hide anything plain and simple.

Anyone who ever has graphic card fan gone bad can tell you that right fan is going to go bad very soon just from the above image.

8gb cards can be used for mining i.e my other card, your 4gb could not. I bought this for playing rocket league while mining with other card.

Besides I am not the one selling mining cards, you are. What a hypocrite.

On receipt I just tested to see if card is working by booting only. Day 1 of my running the card, just after one hour I knew the fan is bad and asked you to come on video call but you didn't rather you find it easy to keep blaming me.

So much drama. I find it funny because if I remember correctly I was in line for both of the graphics card. I just didn't see the thread earlier so I missed both.
Also don't leave positive feedback right away and then complain about the item later. The feedback becomes utterly useless. I'm no judge but @ishashank made a mistake with the positive feedback. Should've thoroughly tested the product first before leaving any feedback (positive or negative or neutral). Both of you should discuss this with the mods in private and see what can be done. Let the old posts remain.

Anyway was this PSU ever stripped opened? You say you tests a lot of systems (like a system builder) but any guarantee that this PSU was not messed with? A lot of my system builder and enthusiast friends like to tear things down for absolutely no reason even those with warranty and then sell them like new.
Also my reason for asking that question is not because I hate sellers who sell broken components but because I like transparency even for broken items. At least (potential) buyers can get an idea of how the item is.
Anyway please pm me your best price for the PSU. Thanks.

hey, I was dealing with a guy with 16 positive feedback and card booted ok and the guy promised 5 month warranty, he told me that he would replace it for me if anything went wrong, what else could go wrong? so I left positive feedback.

I was very wrong.

Drama is always a little funny. What's life when you can't laugh at your own self?

Concerning the other buyer, the timestamps of his messages would poke holes into his claims. But in the first private message he sent about this issue, he asked for a partial refund. That didn't feel right to me, asking for money instead of a resolution. It made me wary of his motives and distrustful of his intentions. Anyway, he's taken the partial refund and mutilated the card so I'm not interested in pursuing the issue further either in public or private with the mods.

I've been building systems since the 386 days, it's a fun hobby. I like to play around with hardware, especially the low end, low power stuff. But this power supply was meant for my most powerful system, so it was always treated with care. And it was never taken apart or disassembled. I think we can agree that it's actually very dangerous to do that. Also, the warranty sticker over the screw is in pristine condition.

If it matters, this was purchased from @asuraj45 on the other (defunct) forum.

I'm a little attached to this powersupply (I bought my first seasonic in 2003) so I'd like to sell this close to the asking price, otherwise I'd prefer to keep it since power supplies are one of the things you can take you with across multiple generations of hardware.
