The "Everyday" show-off thread !

Sincere apologies for my lack of ignorance. Where were you able to procure the ASRock Deskmini? Is it the AMD variant? Been meaning to buy one to connect to the PC and use it as a small emulation system with an APU.

Yes, it is the AMD version. Purchased it from Devraj Computers, Chennai. You can call them even if you are not in Chennai, they do ship.

Bought a Sapphire RX 6800 Pulse to go with the 3090. Dead quiet card - can't hear it over other case fans. Its huge but surprisingly light - Sapphire seems to have designed a really nice cooler.

Before anyone asks - price was steep - around 68.5k

Paisa hi paisa bolte :p
how are the drivers ?
amd drivers are good this time. I hope they just fix the power delivery bug which sometimes drop the power to the card making it a bit slow. else rock solid performance.

Love Sapphire. Still have my 2 old HD 5870s from Sapphire. Kicked ass back in the day.

I had the chance to test out some of the AMD cards recently and I must say the software has improved by leaps and bounds...Nvidia is nowhere close when it comes to the bundled software, it's just a lot of fun trying to tinker around and get the bes5 bang for the buck

I do wish to show-off a thing that I ordered just today and would get it by day after. It's my first 5G smartphone and this is the Realme X7 Pro that has just been launched. For the first time in my life, I have ordered a smartphone in its very first sale and this was a good experience because 5G is coming to India soon. Most people suggested me to go for Oppo Reno 5 pro but it takes a little more money and was a bit beyond my budget. Plus, since both the smartphones contain Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ chipset, I don't think there should be an problem in the performance of the device.
It's high time now that we all should get updated and go for 5G smartphones because we should be ready to see 5G network soon in India. Next time when I come here, I would definitely bring my review on the device. But as of now, I can hardly wait for 2 days to see my new smartphone and what features it brings with itself. I know spending 30k on it was a brave decision but I have no regrets because this seemed to be a really good device and all the tech YouTubers were quite satisfied with it.
Good for you to buy a 5G phone now, but I would prefer to wait and watch and see first how they fare next year.

Pretty much the same opinion from my side. I have a zotac 3090 and a colorful 3070. However this 6800 has been the smoothest experience by far. It's dead quiet - can't hear it over the AIO fans, edge temperatures are under 70 and hotspot around 85-86. Afterburner shows an average power consumption under 200w which is crazy! Games seem to be smoother overall compared to both nvidia cards when there is no RT involved. Even when RT is involved like in Q2 RTX, it still runs reasonably fine.

Overall I am super impressed by RDNA2 - AMD has atleast matched nvidia on all fronts other than RT and is also beating them in power/heat/noise due to a better process at tsmc compared to samsung. I haven't tried overclocking yet but my gut feeling is that this card will overclock like a demon. Both the nvidia cards are right on the edge and overclocking is pretty much pointless on them.
