Is there any technology which is obsolete or on the verge of obsolescence which you will miss ?

Here are mine -

CD/DVD/Bluray writers - I still have them and use them to take backups of Blurays I purchase. I am also one of those oldies who still create a bootable disc instead of bootable usbs.

3D TV - Yes, I know. I still have a Sony 3D Full HD 42 incher which is working perfectly. I am loathe to exchange it for a 4k one. I still enjoy a good 3D movie with the family every now and then. Its great fun.

I will miss the creative suite esp. for the cd rom during bliss win98 days in yr 99-2000. I can still recall the female playing the voice when inserted a cd etc.. Creative cd rom was the best then with such feature offering. Thereafter no other manufacturer ever came with such idea though it wasn't required as well but..

Then the IDE/PATA hard drive fun.. partitioning those 4gb/20gb drives in dos. It was so much fun and installing Os via bootable disks.
Backing up games, wallpapers in bmp format on those delicate floppy drives.
That era was soothing...
Glad I was able to enjoy it to my fullest and will cherish it for lifetime.

Today is a very fast paced world. You invest in something and soon you feel wasted in it..

I couldn't agree more with you.

what is it can you explain more?

There are good phones which still have it. or else we always have PMPs. FiiO M5 is a small one. It is good.
Why to carry the extra luggage when already the phones are growing slowly into laptop sizes...
I always preferred phones with multiple ports for ease of expansion and accessibility.

What cos. are trying to do is sum up everything into ONE and when this ONE get conked off you are left with no option but to suffer suffer & only suffer!!

The only thing that hurts is audio CD players...
I really don't have a clue where the music quality is going now...
It used to be so satisfying to listen to DDD encoded audio discs... In a decent CD player.

Bluetooth all have ruined the essence tbh...
Things used to be on finger tips back then.

The balanced audio from those silver discs which one could tweak with the help of an amp was just too satisfying back then.

I am not at all happy with the streaming music now...( prime music is my main source now a days}

One has to resort to other means of getting flac files and listen..

Unless i am missing something about the advancements now, would love to get tips on getting a good listening

I think one can still buy good CD players but they are expensive. OTOH, what I prefer to do is just rip the CDs to the lossless format of your choosing. I think some of the publishers are also providing the option to download lossless files of their releases.

Problem being , even if we rip the audio cds in lossless formats still we do not have a good HiFi music system in India for a reasonable price . (Audio cd player + good amp + good speakers) .

True. When can't fight this war of phones against humanity. PMP seems to be the only way out. I actually prefer pmp one over my phone (My phone has 3.5 mm port) simply because I don't get distracted by phone calls/social media on pmp.
PS: If you are married YMMV ;)

Reasonable price will be a subjective opinion. Many people are quite happy with bookshelves between 10-20k for listening to music and then of course sky is the limit when it comes to audiophile stuff.

Streaming becoming the new normal - I like to keep music stored locally, plus having everything tied to a company which can change rules anytime is not my cup of tea. Will miss the day when music downloads are no longer available

After getting Youtube music along with youtube premium for Rs. 189 (for 6 people) I don't have any worries if downloads are available or not. I found some old rare songs and albums I could not find anywhere.
