Health & Fitness Corona is in full swing and its not Joke !

@red dragon

Is it true that quarantine period is 14 days as my (one's) ability to spread virus goes away / diminishes greatly post 14 days ? I am currently under quarantine and this sunday 14 days get over for me from the date when I got positive report.
According to CDC mild cases replicable virus disappears after 10 days, moderate to severe upto 20 days ( from onset of symptoms)
These values are for immunocompetent patients.
However for immunocompromised patients, the calculated values vary widely from 10-15 days with no linearity between disease severity and non replicable detectable virus.
However I'm not sure of Indian guidelines.
Is this true o_O ???
Possibly true, it doesn't mean the air outside is contaminated...it's droplet to airborne, meaning it may be suspended in the air in an enclosed area.

I am quarantined in bedroom while wife is quarantined in a small living room (which acts as bedroom sometimes). This Sunday, I will be out of my quarantine and my wife is supposed to shift in this bedroom (as it is more comfortable since it's our bedroom). So I plan to sanitize and clean this room before handing over to her.

So I will be airing out the room for couple of hours with fan on and windows open before I tell her to move. Right strategy?

Long time ago, I wrote in a post that that India is just postponing the inevitable...and was called fear monger, cynic among many other things.
I was not predicting anything, just mentioning the result of certain data analysis from Spain and Italy.
Now this was the inevitable situation, daily case will possibly rise to 3 lakhs/ day and then it will come down.
If another blanket lockdown is announced, a similar situation will arise again once it's lifted. Certain states/ cities may go into lockdown ( just to clear the hospital load..nothing else) but a complete lockdown will again delay the recovery.
@raksrules , yes man..good strategy ( but calculate the days from onset of symptoms, not the first test) BTW, you don't need a negative report to come out of isolation.

The last line about negative report. You are asking me or telling me. I asked 2 doctors and they told no need to get re tested but make sure I am in quarantine for 14 days minimum.

Also my test came back positive on 11th April but symptoms was since 08th April but I am considering 14 days quarantine only from the date positive report came and I started medication.

Country ain't going into lockdown but yeah, some states(Maharashtra for instance) is going for 90% lockdown atleast for 15 days.
When you tell the truth, the inevitable, people tend to mock as few can be that foresighted. You had experienced this first hand and shared with us. Instead of acting on it or developing measures on how to minimise it, they blame the Messiah. Happens in India, no big deal.

I bet, she will be trolled too... Just like any sane person who warns us what people are going through. Reminds me on your story back in "What the Govt is doing" thread.

Suddenly real good offers are pouring in from large private hospitals in India!! How is Fortis hospital?
I was suggesting you not to get another test unless the swabs can be taken from home.

I am not really getting retested and also if mine or anyone's test will be done, it will be done at home only. No going anywhere.

Saw that video and reshared it on fb. Hope people take it serieously.

So sad...I'm so familiar with the emotions she ( and thousands others) is going through. It haunts you even after the thing is over..I still have nightmares of ambulance sirens.

Got my Ma vaccinated with her 2nd shot of Covishield yesterday. Both of us had COVID late last October.

I developed subtle symptoms again about 3 weeks ago and completely isolated myself for 2 weeks. Had fever for a couple of days (99-100.4F). Now I'm better. It could have very well been just a bout of cold due to seasonal change but nevertheless I quarantined for 2 weeks.

To be frank on personal level i would be happy that you comming back. On personal experience with few set of doctors ,if you want to keep your medical practice noble avoid the thought. I don't know whther this happens in other countries or not but here it is

Precisely the reason don't want to go back even for few months.
Yes, altercations do happen here also, but never at this level. Personally, I would simply knock the air out of such unreasonable abusive person screaming at me and deal with the consequences later.
I have worked in very rough places, attacked physically ( in fact was forced to carry a firearm), but not like this!!
As a doctor you have every right to refuse to treat a patient ( unless it's a life and death situation)

Was looking to repurchase the Filtra 4-ply surgical mask carton as mine is coming to an end but seeing that they have increased the price by 50%, even from last time (previously 450 vs now 666). Any other good and time tested brand like Filtra who has not run as greedy?

Some incidents from people close to me:

Doctors are recommending people with cough/cold/fever to not undergo the covid test. They are saying that the medication that they will prescribe will be the same whether you are positive or not, so why bother. Only if the fever doesn't go away in 5-6 days are they recommending other tests and chest X-ray, but still no Covid test. We all read the discrepancies between deaths reported and the load on crematoriums, can confirm that these are true. And that's how the infection and death rates, even though at peak are still much lower than the reality.

An old couple got their second vaccine and they both developed mild fever. They ignored it thinking it as a side effect. It was diagnosed as covid in 5 days, one of them passed away and the other was in ICU.
