WTB Looking for a Decent Laptop for my society's security guard's daughter

Today, my society's security guard asked me if she can get a used laptop in 5k for her daughter who just completed 12th and now she wants to gift her daughter a laptop.
I told her it would be impossible to get a decent laptop under 5k and she did raise her budget by 3k but she also said that her salary is 9500 so she needs to get one as low as possible but still decent enough so her daughter can study without any hiccups.

I know I am asking for a lot but it's for a good cause and then again, she won't be needing any i7 with 16 gigs RAM or a discrete GPU and a beefier HDD.

So anyone who is in Greater Noida or Noida or Delhi, if you have one and can sell below 8k, please PM me with specs and your asking price.

Expect delayed replies as I am busy in something extremely important.

Till now, I haven't received a single offer for a used laptop.
 
repair shops [ specially the top 2-3 big ones ] in town are approached by people for selling their used laptop . one plus point is the repair shop person knows status of laptop so can give a good suggestion to buy .

and kudos to you for contributing to society
 
Thanks buddy. I know that such shops do have some good deals but considering the budget, I am doubtful as my brother in law bought a used laptop last year in 15k and it's really slow. But then again, he isn't a tech savvy person. But even if I have to go to such shop, I would have to search a few shops and bargain as well. And I have also recently changed city so have no idea where the good Computer shops are here and TE seemed like the best option as it's reliable and I can search from the comfort of my home.
Anyways, I did get an offer from Aditya and I have told aunty the config. She will tell it to her daughter and then let me know if they like it or not.
 
rightly mentioned..its time consuming process [ considering travel and opening closing time also it might be very tedious and frustrating to go different such locations and then again we are not in exact position to judge 'how good is the device'. TE is good source indeed. read somewhere that forum culture is overall on decline [ cant find erodov also ] .

Hi guys. I just had a talk with aunty and her kids have denied for a used laptop. I guess, being a mother and not earning enough she asked me for a laptop without consulting her kids and when she told them about the laptop, they denied. I guess I would have done the same if I was in aunty's place.

Anyways, thanks for your help guys. I would be closing this thread now.

Are they looking for a desktop or any but NEW computing device?
If yes, we can at least offer peripherals
 
The kids are preferring new laptop. As it would be the first laptop/computer they would own, they are hesitant to buy a used one which is completely understandable.

This is a great advice as I am sure many of us can donate, just get a new KB/Mouse so it looks new from outside. But I understand why a kid wants new laptop.
 
Well, the aunty told me that the kids have never bought anything of high value pre-used by someone and they are hesitant to buy it as they are afraid if anything goes kaput, there money will be wasted.
Now I could make them listen to me but surely they won't understand that used components with warranty are a good package.

I will give it a try when I meet aunty next time and ask her to try again to convince her daughter.
