When you Joined TechEnclave or DigitForum ....

Hey Guys

Just curious when all you joined TE and Digit Forum.. before mobile.. we used to go cybercafe and surf the net and use all this site there only and it was the only source for us for buying advice, reocmmention, news etc..

many people i know here ar very very old... and it seems many of them are still active... and getting older also :)

Please post here just for fun and nostlagia when you guys joined and how old you now... optional
I joined in October 2005, its almost 16 years.. i remember the old days and build many system from recommendation here
 
Digit 2010 I think, after buying my first i7 system, 950. Yes, was very active on Digit, till 2014-15 only though. Participating in all kinds of topics, most of them stupid argumentative types, android vs iOS, Man Utd vs Chelsea etc.

When Digit was active I don't think anyone ever accessed this forum. This one came sort of active after Digit was hospitalised. Don't remember when joined here though, should be there under my main user profile which is now banned.
 
I joined Techarena out of which techenclave was born! So technically I'm active since 2002 or so..
And I cycled through many forums but all sucked as no timely response or anything. It all began at Techarena and here I'm...

Saw many forums came and go and fade.. By 2k10 I was already an active member of 40+ forums and right now active here, xda and just few more...rest many of them died just like erodov while others have zero updates since years..

I joined TE back in 2006/2007 when someone told me about a GO that was being conducted on it for Creative EP630 In ear earphones. I guess those weren't available in India at retail stores and such.
I only wanted the earphones and was going to bail out. But here I am 14 years later.

Edit: I had auditioned the EP 630 in my office through another member here who was already part of TE. If that member is reading this post, I am the guy who met you in your building in Infosys phase 1, Pune to listen to your EP630 and that's when I decided to buy myself.

Yeah I remember that Go, it was conducted in 2007 in July by someone name Aditya and I too wanted to grab one Ep630 for my N series phone back then. Got white one as black ones went oos immediately. I went to pick them at Prabhadevi on one Sunday rainy evening.. :D My strong memory!
Btw those Ep630 are still going strong (last used last yr) except for the left ones whose wire/coil can be seen as the outer rubber got worn out. But must say 14yrs and yet audible as they were..

Yes I too went to Prabhadevi to pick them up from the guy.
 
I joined both of them post 2006/07when I got super fast 256kbps Bsnl Broadband Connection, back then most people thankful to central minister (forget the name) who declared that 64kbps and 128kbps will not recognise as Broadband in India which private player trying to push.

Also there is CHIP forum too.

Joined these forum to gather latest / updated knowledge about hardware of assembling desktop pcs.

I guess it was around 2007 or 8. I was modding both Digit and TE together for a while. Remember attending an ASUS hosted event in Mumbai (all paid) and met a ton of Digit/TE members. Memorable.

Days were fun: arguing over TIM/CPU voltages for OC/GPU wars. Was running Radeon XFire.
 
I joined here in 2008 when I had started my first job & was researching to buy my 2nd PC (with discrete gpu :cool: Nvidia 8800 with E8200 and Abit IP35E ).
 
Yes there was a CHIP forum also .. all those closed now..

I came to know about TechEnclave from an editorial on CHIP from Marco D'Souza...I bought all their magazine ... I even won a competition to win Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse which CHIP guy kept themselves and never gave gave...

I think TE is the last fort I guess of tech forum in india...
Seema like most of us are above 30 - 40 now ... Being active on forum needs dedication and pasion of a subject and patience to read....

Kids nowdays lack that.. hence forums are dying in india.. even video gamer forum also has very little activity... World is changing

I don't think thats the case. I think most of them do it on FB groups now.

I joined in 2010 when I joined my first job and wanted recommendations for my first build with my own money.

Ended up getting a HD 6970 and crimped on my CPU which was a Phenom 965 BE. :p
 
I joined several forums on the same day! This goes back to 2004 when I got a broadband connection from BSNL and registered on Thinkdigit, Tech Arena, and few other automotive forums.

I was introduced to TechEnclave + FunEnclave by @SunnyBoi around 2006 when we had Creative EP630 GO and a nice road trip//GTG back then which was possibly the biggest meet we had.

I was active up until 2008-09 and kind of lost touch or rather took an extended break only to rejoin TE last year.

865 people online... Good thing... Yes I know Techtree... I miss Erodov it was also a huge forum..but it just disappeared without any fuzz...

It means we all are almost at end off 30s
