That was my initial thought as well. But then I feel reddit might help increase user base here at TE. More users on reddit, many of whom don't know about TE.Better reach for what. Forums and reddit serve similar purposes while having different formats (In fact forums are much better laid out while reddit is an incoherent mess most of the time) . Don't see or feel the need to have a sub-reddit for a forum. What is it that you can't discuss here that you can over there. Also it will increase workload for admins and mods to run 2 places with no perceived benefit for the extra work load.
Some users do find TE from Reddit but not many. If TE is mentioned in some post, the curious ones find and stumble onto TE - many don't. Having a sub IMHO will increase user base. Probably save them from going to OLX for market place.Looking at many other users here as well mentioning about how they heard about this forum from reddit, I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "More users on reddit, many of whom don't know about TE."
Yes but how will they come to know about the subreddit anyway? People will only find out about it if it's mentioned on another post, and in that case we can just mention the forum instead so they'll come here. Some users do find TE from Reddit but not many. Posting FS links and good discussion links from TE website to sub. Then cross posting them regularly on r/indiagaming etc..Yes but how will they come to know about the subreddit anyway? I don't see much use in making a sub, r/indianGaming has hardware and sales posts so this wouldn't be much different
I disagree. Scalable growth is nothing to fear. Some experienced users can become mods eventually.Having too many users will increase workload of mods and also ruin the overall experience of the forum.
TE is an old forum but still it is running because of quality users.
Adding a subreddit will increase userbase of TE but decreases quality in the forum, which in turn could kill the forum.
Not really. I found that TE market place is amazing. Many others could benefit from it instead of olx and FB market place? That's my intention. Please be honest and tell me, you want the user base to increase for the MarketPlace, right.
That's basically what I repeated? Only the curious are the ones who will even register in the first place. Plus this is just my hot take but I'm not too sure having just raw user numbers is the problem but having more people who will actually interact around more outside the marketplace is what we need. According to what you're saying you only seem to see techenclave as a pure buy and sell platform. Some users do find TE from Reddit but not many. @Rezep guess you missed this.. Would prefer you read it clearly before accusing blindly.good discussion links from TE website to sub
Can confirm XDDang, if you thought those were snide personal comments then you should check out the corona and political threads on here lmao

Also, many hardware related queries of mine were solved here. Why shouldn't other novices benefit?
