Hey, so with the current state i am having a hard time finding any decent GPU just to play games at 1080p too.

I found someone selling xbox one x, after discussing we finalized at 16.5k?

Is this a good price?
Does it hold any resell value?
Because i'll be on the lookout for a gpu, if i find one i might sell it or keep it, idk time will tell.

I got one for same price. And the condition was average. Had to do quite some clean up before it was in satisfactory condition.

I think 16.5k is a good price for the console. My primary goal is exactly the same; to use it as a backup until I can get hold of a decent GPU.

You can expect to resell it around 14-15k after say 6-8 months. So in my opinion it's a good deal given the GPU scenario. Go for it. XBOX Series S costs almost double of that. And it's NOT worth if you are going to game at full HD resolution only. Xbox one X SHOULD suffice for it. In the mean time do check out the HALO series , Gears series etc etc.

I was thinking of xbox one s btw. The condition seems fine although when booting up it took a whole minute.
He said it is because the system was tuned off completely that's why it took that long.

DO NOT get the Xbox one s. The price will seem quite lucrative but as others have mentioned the console is terrible. It's weak in all aspects and you won't be able to enjoy. Better to spend a bit more and get the Xbox one x.

And yes, the first boot is pathetic even on Xbox one X. The subsequent boots are fast. It's similar to hibernate in windows. By default the console goes into fast boot mode.

I do have a seller at 16.5k, was worried that it won't have resale value so denied.

I will try approaching him again also found a local seller at the same price will probably go for this one but it's on olx and it's shady as ****.

Purchasing console on OLX is slightly risky, of course. But you can take a few precautions.
  1. Always try to deal in person.
  2. Try to visit the sellers location and check if the console is working at his place. Sometimes its not possible to visit a sellers location, but in that case take a whatsapp video call and check for everything over a live whatsapp call. DO NOT BELIEVE EARLIER VIDEOS.
  3. Ask if he is going to provide any warranty. Most genuine sellers will be happy to offer you 3-5 days of testing warranty.
  4. Haggle like a Pro. But of course upto a certain a certain level. Dont lowball anyone. And if the deal is genuinely good, then dont try to cancel for a small amount. Its better to pay a slightly extra and get stuffs from a genuine guy.
  5. Use you gut feeling. If at any point you feel that something is not right then back away from it. However golden the deal might look but its better to stay away from shady deals.
Best of luck on your hunt for XBOX.
Its hunting season [hunt for best deals on games, consoles etc ] ... :p

I did also find a seller for 16.5k he seemed genuine had a video call any everything but i just got worried that if it won't have any resell value it's no use because at the end i will be shifting to my pc.

Can't use pc now because the gpu surge is so big.

What do you think is it a good price. If i resell after a few months how much value still it hold?

The thing is, everything is so unpredictable these days. Currently, you can find series S everywhere but in a few months they might be out of stock and you might end up making a profit on one x.

Either way don't think you will loose more than a couple thousand bucks.

In the absolute worst case, you might get maybe 13k.

Yes that's a good price point. Like I said get the Xbox one x as a temporary thing and sell it after you get a decent GPU. You will most probably be able to sell it for 14k. So effectively you will be paying 2-2.5k for 6 months; which IMO is a great deal.

Hey, so i got xbox one x. It's running good.
I was thinking of cleaning it up. Should i try doing it myself or take it some place else
Congratulations on the new console. If it's running good and NOT sounding like a Jet then no need to take it apart.

It's not that hard to open it and clean it but as it says "Don't fix it if ain't broken".

PS - You can get in touch with me if you do want to open it and clean it. I have quite some experience in that department. Lol.
