Well, games would be able to run on it and play decent too as games don't interact on hardware kernel level with the GPU drivers. Even today you can still play games on integrated GPUs right? That's how it'll work out of the box because it uses APIs in Windows like DirectX which would definitely be supported on launch drivers.

The same theory is not true for mining because miner programs rely on hardware level GPU features directly and use the driver kernel. Those programs would need to be explicitly updated to make use of any new GPUs. How long that'll take? IDK could be a few days to weeks or even day zero.

It will be to early to shift to intel. What if someone buys it and is stuck if its underperforms against promised paper specs?? No brainer going for intel gpus at least for another year. One should dig through lots of practical reviews as to how it will compete with nvidia/amd.
Only people ready to risk/excessive money/miners/splurgers will go for it which will help other fellas like us to get an insight.

It's too early to rule them out, Intel is not some no name company with zero experience in the semiconductor industry, they didn't call it chipzilla for nothing.
Yes they have launched some half baked products in the past but they are mainly targeting the midrange segment where most sales lie, at the end of the day more competition is always welcome.
If anything we should be hoping for their success unless you want to continue paying 70k for 3060s.

I never said they have zero exp. but standing head to head with already established gpu brands will take some time.
Not just me but many out there will watch them closely before selling their dearly grabbed 3xxx series gpus and shifting to intel.
For me its like if you are good at making cakes and you suddenly start cooking chicken its too early to ditch regular chicken thalis for their chicken dish.

Don't get me wrong but you're acting as if they don't have any experience at all making GPUs. iGPUs are still GPUs just embedded in CPUs and with not enough horsepower and that's done deliberately because it can't fit inside the chip. So I wouldn't go as far as to say they don't have any experience.
Of course anyone who's spending money should do their due diligence to check launch reviews and shit before blindly buying but in some cases if you don't really have an option during current times you really can't go wrong with intel.

As for the fact whoever's grabbed 3xxx series GPU(s) and shifting to intel, my personal take on that is that person has way too much money to spend and obviously has FOMO. Ampere can last at least 2 more years without significant issues.

Igpus are fine but dedicated gpu competing with nvidia/amd is the big word. I'm not underestimating intel at all here but stabilizing themselves in this gpu market will take time.
Also, many might have bought 3xx gpus at a loot rate however there are many who simply were able to grab/source FE cards for msrps!
Any gpu can last 4-5 yrs given the taste of the gamer and the resolution he plays on.
