Graphic Cards GPU pricing trends

saw the thread for 3070FE priced for 93k!! rediculus pricing and few others who themselfs are scalpers cannot take that others are scalping more than 100%. I don't know which desperate person would buy at these rates, its a pure greed from people who are using this platform for profit.

Now, coming to this 3070, the guy claims that theyc can recover the cost by mining! 3070 makes 180-200rs per day after electricity, which means it takes 500-550 days for getting the ROI !

I understand the stance of admins here that it is a free market, but the moment we allow things to go out of hand there will be a lot of people who get ripped off! And most of these people who are selling have hardly any other hardware to sell or they will even come back once they sold their GPU! Atleast it should be restricted to used GPU's and not new sealed ones.

to be precise, in India its Retailers and Distributers not the scalpers and miners! These same people will soon start crying once customers move to Amazon/Flipkart once things improve.
Pretty sure there are miners in India. Normal consumers suffer as they don't have the bargaining power of miners(as they purchase in bulk) or scalpers(again they will purchase in bulk). And ofcourse normal consumers suffer as gpu prices are already inflated.
Most major sellers sell on Amazon/Flipkart. It is your mom and pop stores that suffer because of large scale sellers. Big sellers take money out of circulation whereas your small sellers keep it circulating.
Obviously, gpu retailers are different than your common grocery stores.
Lack of competition always bites the common consumer in the long run.
Which makes total business sense but stop pretending you care about gamers but Nvidia/Amd both know when crypto goes down gamers are there main customers so have to pretend they care.
What certainty is there that crypto is going to go down. Miners are big players and they ride out the market cycles. It is small time investors who face the brunt of bear market.
Even if Nvidia/Amd were to come out openly and say that mining is their first priority, people won't(and in some cases can't) stop buying their gpus. Let's hope for more competition in gpu space. Let's hope intel does for gpu market what amd's ryzen did for cpu market.

So looking at the other end of the spectrum, if a member wants to donate or sell any thing at half the price, should Admins intervene and increase the price to something they see fit?
Using the same logic we(TE) won't have a patrion program as selling at zero or donations won't be allowed.
Let it be as things are. Let the market and the buyer correct the price itself.

Crypto will not go down, Ethereum 2.0 would have been implemented by now.

ETH 2.0 is already on testnet, but will take some time to get it onto mainnet. But as usual Eth devs always miss the deadlines and now to the point where other protocols are catching up or even surpassing Eth.

So far it looks and may take another 6-10 months to implement....but as they implement difficulty bomb it will speed up but as it is delayed again then think timeline has been extended.

I think gpu prices are going to increase in near future because of Lockdown (If implemented) and with ETH 2.0 delays demand won't decrease. I can just hope my prediction fails
Manufacturing industries wont be impacted, they wont be closed as they are important to economies all around world. So lockdown wont do anything to GPU prices

Yes it has already started increasing now and can see it in local markets and it seems this is going to continue for a month or so till lockdowns ease down.

Not only GPU, everything else will be soaring high now.
Elections will surely compliment this corona and lockdown.
Government will try to keep food prices checked till elections are over but other things will see an upward trend. I have a feeling we might not see strict lockdown but people will take this an an excuse and start increasing prices saying "Lockdown ki wajah se maal nahi aa raha" - Supply is hit due to Lockdown

Obviously Govt. will keep a check on food prices, someone already mentioned we can't afford another lockdown. Greedy people will surely use this excuse "Lockdown ki wajah se maal nahi aa raha" and probably may be stocking for a uncertain situation ahead.

Valid points but there are forums which will not allow you to sell on a price higher than what it is on the bill. I wish if TE does that. Because having sold my PS3 once, I know OLX/QUIKR is filled with Spammers.

Issue is we cannot identify all people based on how the card will be used. For example, if I get 3090 and then find it’s not if my test. Normally I would sell for same of 5% deprecation. But now as the card can be used for mining, it’s hard to figure out the nature of sale. If we can somehow figure out that then many might sale it for a reasonable rate. I was thinking about this as when to sell my 2070 super. Could have sold it to miner for around 62k on fb. But than though that 50k should be good enough based on current situation while for a little profit as we as selling it to a gamer. At that time this all things where at my mind.
