1 ton AC guide required

On a Journey called Life :P
Skilled
I am in market to buy an AC of 1 ton.
Room size is 100 sqft as of now. Which AC to buy. Budget 40k or so.

I was in the same boat as you, got this one
https://www.croma.com/lg-1-ton-5-st...e-copper-condenser-ps-q13anze-white-/p/246567
For 34990 (plus some 2500 discount on credit card offer)
There's a WiFi version which costs a bit more too - it only allows control through their app (not homeassistant or IFTTT)

For a home office/bedroom of 150sqft with direct sunlight (4 hours a day) used for 15-16 hours a day, so far no complaints at all

The only thing you need to know while getting a 1 ton AC is to get a 1.5 T Ac.
I got an LG 1.5 T 3 star AC for 110 sqft room. It cools very fast and goes down to 40% mode that is around 400W usage very quickly. It goes lower too very soon after when just the blower is on. This happens after the walls have cooled down.

So highly suggest you upsize it. It works very well. I got mine in a deal from Flipkart for 30k. Its not exactly 1.5T. Its around 1.4ish. I have zero complaints. I'm pretty sure consumption will be lesser than 1T 5 star.

This is a great AC, My friend brought this a few days back. I can vouch for its performance and its a great deal too.

I will be using ac for 12 to 16 hrs for sure. so based on that you can understand. I think inverter AC.
That doesn't help a wee bit.
More important is how many days in a year you plan to use the AC.

I was running my 1 ton AC for approx same 12-16 hours in Pune. But in the entire year only for April and May months that's it. Needless to add that there was no point going in for any high star rating.

I am not sure how you tested for A/B against 1 ton AC. I have 2 ACs, 1x 1.5T 3 star in master bedroom and 1x1T 5 star (which I shared in post above)
At 40%, the 1T sips power, and at HC mode cools the room with 3 people and my 3090+R9 PC while gaming within 3 minutes in a flat with direct sunlight and orange curtain. As per my testing with a clamp meter, 1.5T easily draws 1.25-1.4X versus the 1T unit with same settings, and cooling feels same in 160sqft office room vs 225sqft bedroom

it's not about cooling. but humidity maintenance also, I heard. I was planning 1.5T but everyone in my circle said either 0.8T or 1T for my room size. it's a bit less than 100sqft.

2500 discount? Means instant discount or cashback and if cashback, how much time for the same to come back? I was told 37k for the wifi one I think, 36k for AC, and 1k installation which they say is in the price. and 5% cashback. but my cc is new, so I don't know how it will work. will have to sort out someone with a CC for HDFC.

LG 1ton AC for 37K locally.

also, should I wait for the rains to start? will the price fall?

if your room have sun facing window or nothing on the roof then the cooling will take more time due to hot conditions, I bought Daikin 1.5T AC last year for 125sft room and its more than sufficient though this room in not too hot so even 1T would have been good. so decide if your room is too hot for 1T AC secondly don't buy AC thinking about stars the extra money we pay doesn't cover for the electric bill so buy a 3 star AC if price difference is more than 2000

₹2500 to ₹3000 is the difference I think. Have to check it out. Normally the way I use it is with a room which has 2 led smart lights, + 2 studio lights + 5900X and 6800XT system and Sony a74 which does heats. now in winter, it's not that of an issue. but in summer and all, it's a big sweat room.

Now there is a Samsung model for 4 stars but it also cost ₹36000 + ₹3000 installation kharcha!

Instant discount upfront. Charge of 33490 on card.
Ordered from croma, installation cost me 1800 with the stand for radiator.

For the waiting for rains part.. I am not so sure. It might go out of stock and then would be difficult to get a good deal.. Or can be claimed at stock clearance. Can't say
Next year will be different models with very similar pricing if features are similar, at that time we generally see last year's similar model at 1-1.5K discount. For example the Q18 and Q19 for 1.5T models of LG (Q19 are 2022, Q18 are 2021)

Check this thread there are many people who purchased AC during that time. would be helpful https://techenclave.com/threads/need-suggestions-for-buying-ac.197155/post-2255337

Daikin 1 ton 5 star Inverter AC FTKM series will cost you around 36k, ISEER is 5.2.

Installation is Rs. 701/- plus taxes.
I was eyeing the 1.5T variant of this very series but they kept saying dunt bai invarattar ac, they goes baaad aftarr phew yaars and all that... so refrained.
I am still in conflict, whether Daikin is comparable with the likes of Mitsubishi Heavy or General in terms of low maintenance. Don't need that stupid recurring costs because this or that has started malfunctioning every other year thing. Anyone has long term experience with Daikin?
