I bought this MI tyre inflator for my dad's TVS XL. first few times it was working good. nowadays, the tyre flattens out after few hours... and sometimes, even while we dethread the inflator, air starts coming out of nozzle forcefully and flattens in minutes.

What is the reason and work around?

I had the same problem tyre getting deflated after few hours. The culprit was the valve in the tyre nozzle. Replaced this and everything was normal. It costs about 50 paise.
While on the subject of portable inflators I request users to share their experience as there a number of brands and models and one is hard put to find grain from the chaff.

Get the tube changed or if its tubeless tire get the stem valve changed.
I am bit suspicious if the problem was with the tyre valves. Because why it would happen for both tyres at the same time... Both were working good till the time my dad used to fill at petrol station 3 months ago. Even if it is to do with the valves, looks like something the inflator triggered it

Anyway will get that checked.

I use the MI inflator. It takes about two minutes to fill from zero to 40 PSI. No hassles as such.

Advantage is you can carry around for emergency usage. Charges in 2-3 hours. I don't use for cars. For bikes and cycles this is more than enough. Can use it for 6-8 wheels in single charge.

Petrol station staff could be the culprit. Many times i have faced the issue of tyre flattening after filling air in the petrol station. Likely that the value was damaged by them and the inflator further triggered it.

Avoid filling air in petrol station for filling air. go to the puncture shops for filling air to prevent this.

You may have damaged the nozzle while tightening the inflator. You over tighten it, the nozzle gets kind of twisted in the act and may get damaged.Keep the outside of nozzle threads clean, apply a drop of lubricant on the outside threads, it helps to screw the inflator smoothly.

Buy a shrader valve core removal tool from local hardware store. Use it to fix the valve cores. Valve core removal tool is the same thing that the puncture wala uses to remove the core of a tube when he wishes to deflate it to check for punctures. It looks like a 2 pronged screwdriver.

I use the same MI tyre inflator on my scooter as well as on 3-4 MTBs. I have never faced issues with the valve cores being damaged by the machine.
