Health & Fitness Ergonomic Chair to work continuous more then 12 hours day (Budget 5000-7000 INR)

Existing chair is almost 8+ years old.
I have a habit to keep my left/right feet on chair for comfort most of times, when working from home.
With growing age (above 45+) noticing little back ache when sitting for long hours.
My Weight around 90+ KG

Some features looking for:
Cushions to comfort on side handle will be added advantage.
Flexible Head-Cushion (detachable)
Anything another then black (not a must)

Kindly ask more questions, which can help select best product.

I have a suggestion a contact detail since I also do WFH and daily I sit for 12 hrs for office and after that for stock market and all another 4 hrs. So 16 hrs I am always in front of PC every single day. here is the contact details Hariom Chairs repairs 9820499276 from Mumbai

Contacted, they have similar chair for around 6450 with 1 year warranty.
 
I would suggest offline shops first as getting a feel for the chair is important when buying it. If you're looking online take a look at cellbell or bluebell brands. I would suggest to look at chairs with metal arm rest base as fiber ones are flimsy. Cellbell chairs come with 3year warranty
 
Do not order for chairs online or offline in HURRY, without testing it. Visit few shops and use it min.10 minutes, chceck for your comfort & then only buy.

I have 2-3 friends who bought after testing in hurry it at shop (offline) but still NOT AT ALL HAPPY when they use same chair/s at home for regular basis/long period.

Do not worry to pay 1000/1500 more offline if chair suits your needs.

NOTE: Few chairs are not Comfortable (as per your posture/seating habit) but are good for Back & Neck Health.

I have the exact same chair and it's branded by Green Soul. Expensive but with 3 year warranty. It's no more than the same thing with a label and warranty support slapped on.

If you can find the same thing locally cheaper then go for it. Otherwise this gets down to near about 5-5.5K in sales.

I have the very same model with no brand and got it 4.5 years back for 4~4.5k. replaced the hydraulic for 650 last year and the cushion for 950 couple of days back and it looks as good as new. avoid costly branded chairs if possible

Well, word to the wise. I agree.

Thing is even when I bought the branded green soul chair I had an issue with the chair being tilted to one side a little bit (I think you were there in the other thread).
Anyways, that 3 year warranty and prompt service from green soul was good and issue was resolved within the week at home.
Locally I would get 1 year warranty and even for that I'd have to take it back to the shop where I got it from and deal with the shopkeepers I didn't want that inconvenience.

It's personal preference.

yep I saw your jugads there. I was tempted to reverse the arm rest when the repair guy removed it to for the cushion work. The repair guy I found was happy to do door step pick and delivery.

Yea I agree about personal preference. Even if anyone ends up buying chair online, first try similar models offline in shops to get an approximate feel for what you could end up with. I found a very good chair for 10k and they offered 20% discount but upon trying it out I found it very flimsy and decided to get my old chair fixed. Breathability is important when you are sitting in your chair for longer time
 
Most chairs I have seen from local manufacturers look fancy but get ergonomics wrong.
Bought a 21K Featherlite Helix and even it doesn't get the proportions right, the base is bit too long and lumbar support is just plain useless. It is great for sitting cross legged though.
Only two chairs that I could sit comfortably for hours without noticing at all are Herman Miller and SteelCase, which were at previous workplaces. They cost between 50K to 1.5L.
I would love to find similar chairs from local manufacturers but haven't had any luck so far.

If you are going to be sitting on that Chair for 8 hours, for years, invest in a good one after trying it in person, don't order it online by guesstimating.

Sadly you can't test chairs for a couple hours on the shop or anywhere else for that matter. I believe any issues with comfort only propagate after 2+ hours of sitting. For first 10-15 mins if you test you'll find most chairs comfortable.
 
Went ahead to check chairs yesterday, problem with chairs with heat rest = I cannot fold legs while sitting on chair..

Can i have head rest installed on existing chair ?
 
Bump again, have not bought till now (used old office chair)

Since topic is more then 2 years old, request for new suggestions once again, budget = 5K to 7K
Handle height should be adjusted to altleast 25 inch and Chair width should be adjusted to atleast 29 inch
Reason - So it can go inside desk
