Expect to see the future of Assassin's Creed at Ubisoft Forward

Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin's Creed Mirage, the company's next entry in their long running historical action franchise. Recent reports have suggested that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be set in Bagdad, and if the artwork below is anything to go by, the game will follow Basim, a character from Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Gamers can expect to hear more about Assassin's Creed Mirage at Ubisoft's next Ubisoft Forward livestream, which will be hosted on September 10th at 8 PM BST.

Several reports have claimed that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be a return to basics for the Assassin's Creed franchise, focusing more on stealth and less on the RPG styling of recent Assassin's Creed titles. In this sense, Assassin's Creed Mirage's teaser image is appropriate, an it is reminiscent of Ubisoft's first Assassin's Creed game.

Ubisoft Forward is less than ten days away, so gamers will not need to wait for long before they will have new details about Ubisoft's latest Assassin's Creed title.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Bonus Quest Artwork Leaks Online

New Assassin’s Creed Mirage artwork surfaced online, showing a little more of the yet-to-be-officially revealed next entry in the series.

The new artwork, which started making the rounds online today thanks to Codex, confirms the name of one of the game's quests, possibly a DLC quest, The Forty Thieves. Judging from the name, this quest is likely inspired by Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, one of the Arabian Nights stories. The artwork can be found here.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is reportedly the final name of the smaller entry in the series called Rift. The game will be set between 860 and 870 in Baghdad and will star Basim in his youth. Unlike previous entries in the series like AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla, the upcoming game will be a return to the series' roots, toning down the RPG elements of its predecessors considerably, doing away with mechanics like dialogue choices, gender selection, and more. Alongside the new game, Ubisoft is also working on a remake of the first entry in the series, which will reuse assets from Mirage.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has yet to be officially announced, but an official reveal is expected to come during this year's Ubisoft Forward, which will air on September 10th.

Very excited for this. Hope it actually has less RPG elements, tough not fully dumbed down. If tere is one series from Ubisoft that I like , its this.

They should set one in persia/syria and pay homage to the Order of Assassins that inspired this franchise, very surprised Ubisoft haven’t made a AC game on them yet.

Last AC game i enjoyed was unity despite being buggy mess i enjoyed it a lot, after that lost touch with the game, mirage looks interesting.

I'm hoping they revive the Prince of Persia series sometime. They were really great games, specially WW.
Agreed. POP WW was one of the ubisoft's finest games too. And it was way ahead of its time. So it was NOT such popular as AC games. The first few AC games had lame combat compared to POP.

In fact AC was supposed to be a side expansion game ( DLC was not invented yet ) of POP and the first assassin was supposed to be bodyguard of the prince. Lol. Poor prince was killed by his so called bodyguard.

I really hope that this game is a full fledged game and not one of the side scroller filler games ubisoft had done in the past with china and india locations ....

I kinda enjoyed those three Russia, India and China games but get the feeling. I also want it to be a full fledged game.
