4k VFM TV. Budget 25k

No longer available, so please ignore.
Also, among cheaper brands, (depending on the city you're in) I would suggest Sanyo, a sub-brand of Panasonic. After-sales support is provided by Panasonic. I have been using a Sanyo for the last 5 years, so far so good. Amazon used to sell them. But anyway, it seems like the consensus is about VU. So best of luck with that.

@mallik please do let us know what you decide. Amd as others suggested, do visit the offline showrooms. They will most probably match the online prices and also give card discounts.
In pune its Croma or Vijay sales. Croma has card discounts for most of the cards for different days.

Are you against the idea of buying offline? In Bangalore, you can perhaps go to croma or reliance digital and check out their in-house brands too.
For e.g. - You can get this 50 inch 4K Chroma TV for 24,990 plus an extended warranty for 3 years at 5103.
Having said that, I don't know much about the quality of after-sales support from Croma.
Forget after sales, no idea of panel quality for Croma TV. Like few years back Xiaomi sold 220-250nit 4K TVs at such prices & was just not bright enough. These days Mi/Redmi one is close to 350 nits & Vu/Hisense is 400nits from what I remember.

By virtue of a pleasant surprise and undue generosity, a friend is giving me his 43" LG HD TV (non smart) for free. So, now I will just get a ChromeCast or FireStick.

This pushes my purchase by a year at least. I save 15k minimum. I could also think of exchanging it next year and getting a larger TV. For now, I am set.

I am still keen to know what the others who are following this thread, will buy

Wow, that's excellent news.

Get any capable android box and you are all set. The Motorola 4K box is going for cheap, although you don't need 4k. Research a bit and see what device suits your needs.

Congrats, that's great. I too vote for Motorola which is available for 2.8k now on fk

Can anyone suggest dos and don'ts for pre installation and post installation?

Also please provide 4k hdr and hdr10 testing videos download link.

I finally bought LG 55 inch uhd for 40k from flipkart with card discount and exchange. Listed price was 48k. I got 6k exchange for my 10 Yr old LG lcd on this particular model.
Experience: The colors and panel are great. The up scaling is also very good.
