Recd the cpu, the package was wet but looks ok. Waiting for motherboard to test it.

Looks like some damage on the cpu. Looks like a dent.

The stickers are intact but it's open from another side, I don't remember if I opened the pack or it was already opened. The cpu does not look used but this dent is there.
The cpu packaging was wet also.

Bhai it's raining since 2 days in Delhi. If it's working fine just keep it. Your warranty is fine, some minor scratches and scuffs are fine on the CPU and can also come when installed with the retention mechanism and cooler coldplate etc.

Waiting for motherboard, hope it will not cause heating issues. New cpu should not have any damage.

If you feel you got a used item or an open box and you're unhappy with it and plan to replace/return it even if it works then don't wait for motherboard just raise a replacement request with flipkart regardless. The more you delay the difficult it becomes for you.

That dent that was there is not that it happened without it being taken out. I would say that get it replaced otherwise in case of any rma in future it might be rejected for that small of a dent

It might be a scam where the scammer delids a very cheap processor and then attaches the IHS of a higher priced CPU.

See if it is actually a 12100F. Compare it closely with a high resolution picture of 12100F or go to a local shop.
Good point but unlikely to happen with low tier i3 chips. Also that PCB of the CPU seems genuine 12th gen so it's either an open box item or a manufacturing defect from the assembly.
Is this common, I thought such scams only happened on olx or new sellers on amazon/fk with unrealistic pricing?
Well you're right and to add to that those happen only with very popular CPUs with high demand such as 5600X or 12400 and above. Also those listings are like "Only 1 left" with discounted pricing to show up on top.

Already answered post #4. The stickers are intact. It's open from here, I probably did not open it but don't remember. The box was wet and coming apart.

The cpu was also not visible in the box window.

Sorry, I was typing "can you share pics if possible" but accidentally clicked post reply.
Anyhow let us know what happens in replacement, better to take full video of unboxing for that as well.

Flipkart rep said they will speak to seller and revert in 24 hours. I asked for refund he hasn't confirmed refund yet.

Damn...in case of amazon, we can initiate replacement without even speaking to seller, but flipkart has a different way. Now I'm terrified how my SSD arrives

You'll be extremely lucky to get a straight replacement or refund from Flip aka Scamcart.
Be prepared to complain via INGRAM.

Yes, I was thinking the same while writing it and then realised that 12100F costs close to 10k now and the level scammers can droop down to so posted it anyway  It is very unlikely because as you pointed, the PCB seens to be of 12th gen.
