Hey... My friend got a Samsung S20 Ultra 5G from his relative who has come from Dubai. It shows that the phone was last updated on Dec, 2020 and it also shows no updates available. I looked up about this on the internet and found out that you won't get updates outside the country you bought the device from. Is this real? if yes what's the solution for this and how to update the mobile?

Current versions:
1) One UI version - 3.0
2) Android 11

From my experience, this is not true. Unless it is a carrier device that is unlocked, it should receive updates. For instance, devices from the US that are carrier locked, will require the phone to have that carrier's sim to get updates. Originally unlocked phones do not have the issue. I have purchased a couple of Sammy tabs and phones from UAE (used) and they did receive updates in India. If this has changed now, I would not know.

As mentioned by @Afrin101, a regional SIM should be enough to force the effective CSC to change on a multi-CSC firmware. You should eventually be at software version G988BXXSFFVIB, which is the latest One UI 4.1 based release for this device with the September October 2022 patches.

You are absolutely right and I've even got Oct security patch.

Any idea about One UI 5.0 roll out date for the device?

Another query guys... official 45W charger is out of stock in samsung website (it also costs 3K it seems), any reliable alternate charger for the device?
