Hi All,

Selling my trusty combo as i recently upgraded my setup. This is still a rocking setup and used to deliver 70+ FPS on most games till date with a decent GPU.

Selling this only as a combo as of yet for INR 11,000.

** FREE : Antec after market cooler **

The CPU + Mobo + RAM was bought from TE (@coldfear00) except the corsair which was bought recently and is still under warranty.

Sorry for the OT, but any particular reason you've installed the CPU cooler to blow air up instead of to the rear of the case, towards the exhaust fan?
 
It doesn't blow air up - it blows it towards the exhaust, out from the cabinet from the back as per my airflow design.

I don't mean to crap on your thread, but just for general information, revising your pricing would yield a quicker sale.

Your combo is worth 7.5 - 8K tops.

CPU - 2.5 - 3k

MOBO - 1.5 - 2k

RAM - 3 - 3.5K


For 14K, someone could source a Ryzen 2xxx / Intel 10th gen based system, at the very least.
 
Okay, so i bought this for a friend of mine, he brought it to me today for assembling. so the motherboard is bent and does not POST, it was packed as a whole along with the heatsink and cpu as it is! + i paid extra for shipping through bluedart, but it was shipped via dtdc anyway and we had specifically talked about packing it separately. So i dont know what to tell my friend anymore since he bought it on my recommendation!
 
@vaalkai did you record the unboxing? Also show some pics here how bad is the bend. It may have cracked layers of the PCB or weaken solder joints of components that's probably why you're not getting a POST.
Talk with the seller what did they say about it?
 
Sadly, no i did not record the unboxing, i didnt feel the need to, till now. I havent talked to the seller yet, i was shocked to learn that it was not sent as it was requested and that it was packed as a whole :(

I'm scared to purchase via te even sellers with 28-30 ratings are falling into these traps and let me not get into all the scams... I sometimes think the number of feedbacks and joining date just lures me into a false sense of security on te

I don’t understand why people don’t make it a habit to record unboxing videos these days. You bought used items online and this particular seller didn’t even listen to your courier choice (even after paying extra as your said), you’ll need to look for these signs when buying and always make it a habit to always record the unboxing.
Now with that being said, whoever received it, you or your friend it’s gonna be hard to believe you’ll since no unboxing proof is presented.

Note to seller - Why would you ship the cpu and cooler attached to the mobo? You’re suppose to separate everything before shipping!
I hope you shipped the mobo in the original box for safety packing purposes.
 
I completely understand that this would have been a disappointing experience for the buyer. With all the effort i put in to pack the item; it definitely is for me as well. I also understand the buyer's right to document his concerns on the forum which should be the case so that everything is clearly discussed in open. BUT

What I do not appreciate is the buyer not representing the facts correctly (may be unintentional) and the forum members jumping on the band wagon and not giving the seller the time to even respond. I am a member of this board for around 15 years with a 100% positive score of 28. The buyer has posted this at 5:17 PM without making a single attempt to contact me via WhatsApp or PM. And people like me with day jobs should at least be given time to respond. Anyways, below is my response which is being posted 3 hours after this has come to may attention for the FIRST time.

How did I pack the item ?
It was clearly explained to the buyer that i do not possess the original packaging so i will pack it in another box and will stuff it properly so that there is least amount of damage. I have not shipped the motherboard with the cooler attached ! I have kept the processor attached to the motherboard as that is the safest way to ship it. It was then wrapped in almost 3 layers of poly wrap and 3 layers of bubble wrap. The cooler was packed separately in the same way and kept in the same box with enough packing material in it. I even informed this to the buyer that he should reapply thermal paste again as it may get smudged in transit. The RAMs were also wrapped and kept safely. The box was large enough to accommodate all 3 items.

How did I ship the items ?
During our negotiation, I clearly informed the buyer that I want to ship it via BlueDart (I had suggested this) as they ship it carefully and since I anticipated that they will charge around INR 700 and hence i asked the buyer to pay additional INR 300, which he promptly did. However, Blue Dart denied shipping the item to the buyers PIN Code and I in fact waited in their office for 30 mins to try to make it work. When it did not happen, i informed the seller and we mutually agreed to send via DTDC. Even they refused to ship it to the buyer's location as it was outskirts as per their routing. I paid INR 1.1k to DTDC Express without charging a single extra rupee to the buyer and all this time I kept him (her) informed on WhatsApp and on call as well. We had an open and very transparent communication channel.

What has actually happened ?

This is a typical transit damage that has been caused by DTDC who have put weight on this package, even though i marked it as fragile / electronics. I know this really doesn't mean anything in the Indian Logistics scenario.

What could I have done better ?
I could have sent the snaps of the way i packed the items to the buyer so that if he / she had any inhibitions, we could have cleared it up there itself. I could have also kept the mother board separate and the cooler in a separate box - although this would have been treated as 2 parcels and double the shipping cost.

What could the buyer have done better ?
Before posting it on the forum in a way that can be perceived that I have been incommunicado, it would have been better if he / she would have informed this to me directly over PM or Whatsapp first so that we could have more than easily resolved this. Infact, I was the one who pinged the buyer on WhatsApp, to enquire if they had tested the hardware on 18th Nov. To which they said that they will get back to me once they have tested it.

TL;DR : What happens next ?
Even though shipping damage is completely on the buyers risk, and technically out of the 4 components i.e Motherboard, CPU Cooler (after market), CPU and the RAMs (16GB), only the motherboard seems to have been damaged. I am ready to refund 50% of the mutually agreed value of the MOBO within the agreed combo price. This discussion we can do over TechEnclave PMs to which i usually respond to within 2 hours max.

50% for mobo should call it a fair deal. Both of you’ll are losing in the end.

Hopefully buyers from now on record their unboxing and/or insure high value items (at their own cost) as shipping damages happen from time to time.
 
I appreciate the detailed response, i know i didn't contact you because i was not trying to get you to reimburse it. I even replied in one of the above posts that i did not contact you. I never said you did not respond or that you were intentionally doing something, I just did not like the way things rolled out and wanted the community to know. Like i said i bought this for a friend, he is the one who communicated to you via whatsapp and he is the one who sent you the money.

a) He brought me the box and i saw one of the ram and the cpu cooler was attached, which pissed me off, since the heat sink is heavy and would cause damage. I acknowledge that you mentioned about the original packing, for which i requested that the motherboard be kept on a hard plastic or something similar so that "it does not bend".
b) Bluedart has on office in the pincode, you can share the pincode and anybody can check with bluedart if they ship or not. My friend deals with CNC machines and he gets most of his stuff via Bluedart! I have no idea why they or dtdc would say that. This "made it look" like you were skimping on courier charges.
c) I know you are an experienced seller, that's is why i staked my reputation assuming that things would go smooth. else i wouldn't have risked asking him to buy it from you even though the price was on the higher side for a 3rd gen cpu! There were cheaper 4th gen combos on the forum at that time.

Hope you understand where i am coming from, given the facts.

Sure - I understand - But i really did spend a lot of time in packing it and trying to convince Blue Dart to sell it. I have no intentions of saving a few bucks on shipping. Which is why I actually overpaid to DTDC.

I packed each item separately and in generous amount of packing - and i have a background in relocation of commercial and sensitive IT goods so i used that experience to pack each item separately in its own space within the box. Nothing was attached to the motherboard apart from the CPU.

Anyways - i will compute the amount and reimburse it to the same UPI ID as partial compensation to your friend. This was unfortunate and obviously something which was beyond my control.
 
Though i didn't like the way it turned out, i really appreciate you coming forward and trying to resolve it. I haven't broke the news to him yet, i will probably hunt for a motherboard elsewhere and buy it on my own expense. Sometimes we shouldn't try to help others :(, we help and still end up looking bad, doesn't help my anxiety either. Sigh.
