The Lego (and Knockoffs) Thread

How did I miss this thread lol. Just posted in show off section about my first lego build.

As this thread is a place for non-legos too, let me share Neko Busou, Chatora (Weaponised cats or cat weapons, Orange tabby)

These are super easy to assemble, you can put them together in 10-15 mins.

This started as a April fools joke and rest is history.

With the cat taken out of course.

LEGO Marvel Venom.

Will post build photos as always once I get started with all these sets soon! :)

P.S. The seller on Amazon (Electronics Bazaar Store) sent me a torn box the first time around after ordering this set. The middle portion of the box was completely torn and a gaping hole was there. The packet of LEGO parts were also missing! I complained to Amazon, thankfully this was under Prime, and Amazon shipped me a clean and well packed replacement the second time around.

Just finished Keitora Busou by Bandai.

This was a fun and therapeutic build. Relatively easy to put together. No need to break the manual (it is in Japanese) unless you are stuck.

This was a really fun build and once completed it looks stunning when displayed on the desk. The light makes the bling look quite lovely. It's not a very small set either and stands at a very satisfying height. I was skeptical that it might look small but that it doesn't. All the fingers are movable! Overall a solid 8/10 from me.

Cheers & Keep Blocking Guys :)

Lepin knockoff of the Lego Technic F1 2022 Mclaren [42141].

Got it for 2800 when I went to Singapore from Lazada. Pretty surprised with the quality since there were no missing pieces and it was a fraction of the actual set cost. Wish we could still order stuff from aliexpress.

Started with 3 in 1 Creator 31125. First is the owl and hedgehog, reading a book:

Owl is immensely posable. The wings, individual flaps, tail, head etc, all are versatile for posing. Good stuff.

There was a long powercut over the weekend so I finally got around to finishing the Lego Seinfeld set I ordered a few weeks ago.

It was fun, but I felt that many of the blocks were included just to increase the piece count (was advertised as having 1300+ pieces). There were so many 1x1 blocks or 1x2 blocks that could have been replaced by a single 1x3 or 1x4 long block.

I also disliked placing stickers over some of the blocks. I can never get them to align pefectly and this triggers my OCD. I wish Lego would provide pre-printed blocks like they do for some of the objects in the build.

This is the first build I bought as an adult, and has probably scratched my itch for now. I don't think I'll be purchasing any more models, unless I'm getting a really good deal on them.

Excellent. I'm holding off my large Lego arrangements due to lack of display.

Back to 3 in 1 today

For whatever reason, my daughter loves these two over owl/squirrel. Deer's head and legs are articulating, whereas for the bunny, it's the ears. Good stuff.

Next up should be the 3 in 1 Aquarium. It looks like a banger tbh !

Got the LEGO Botanical Collection - Bonsai Tree completed and setup on my Wrist watch glass table:

Absolutely love the way this looks in person. A very refined build and what I particularly liked is the way the root of the tree and the branches were designed. Some first time blocks created by Lego for this set which were very unique. This Bonsai Tree and the Bird of Paradise (I'm yet to build it) are definitely my picks from the Botanical Collection by Lego. Remarkable designing and makes one very content with the end result.

Looks really great. Is there a lot of repetition of parts though ?

Thank-you my friend :)

Barring the leaves, where the pieces are same (so repetitive), the other parts are different and the most enjoyable was the building of the root and the incorporation of the side stems which loop around the main root. I also loved the fact that Lego included that small table top (which you of course need to construct) on which you can place the Bonsai Pot on. It adds so much to the overall look. The pot in which the Bonsai is set has 4 rubber feet to prevent slipping from that base table.

There is an alternate build as well which looks like this (photo is from the Internet):

I don't quite like the above pink and white combination so I made the green leaves variant.
