Which one as the first console? Xbox or Ps5

I have never had a Console before and I want to try gaming. I enjoy all sorts of games but majorly RPG, and I also love racing games. I am sold on the Xbox for the Gamepass stuff. But I don't know much about Sony Exclusives as I haven't played any. Also I am getting slightly used Xbox Series X for 40-42k whereas a Ps5 is still at 50k.

I just want to know for the first time console player does the Sony Exclusives make up for the 10k gap?

While a discounted extended Game Pass Ultimate subscription is still possible, I would say no (you're guaranteed access to a large Bethesda and BioWare RPG catalogue, and Forza (plus some Need For Speed and Grid titles) for racing). Beyond that, potentially, but not necessarily, yes, because Sony exclusives are deservedly reputed, but not all exclusives would be appealing to everyone, and Microsoft with its ZeniMax acquisition may also have more interesting exclusives in the future.

Ideally, a mid range PC, if you can stretch for that, should be a best of both worlds option.

Xbox has large library of games with game pass while ps5 has better exclusive titles.
For a first time gamer like you Xbox would suit you better simply on the basis of vast library

PC would be the preferred option if you can splurge more and not strictly looking for a console for gaming.
If you're talking about exclusives on Xbox, it's all available on PC nowadays. But the PS5 does have some cool exclusives that are not available on PC.

There are thousands of games to play on the XBOX. For a first time gamer, there's absolutely no dearth of games on either platform, so you shouldn't concern yourself with exclusives.

XBOX offers a much better deal, at least in India (not sure about other countries) with its game pass. You can check this thread.

With the above linked thread's trick, you can get practically unlimited and completely legal gaming for <5k for the next 3 years. And there's a vast library of games to be played on the XBOX.

So don't worry about exclusives. Whether they're worth it or not, only a regular gamer can know for themselves. What does it matter if, as a beginner, you don't have access to 10 out of 1000 games in the world?

I moved to console gaming because I enjoy playing story based games on story mode as compared to other genres.
Chose PS5 instead of xbox as it has really good exclusives, GOW Ragnarök is also one of the reasons for choosing PS5:p.

Someone can correct me If I am wrong but most xbox games can be played on pc with game pass I think ? Whereas as far as Ps5 is concerned especially if you like story games the exclusives are unmatched imo its just a different experience be it god of wars , spiderman , tsushima etc.

If you already have a decent pc / laptop or might want a new one anyway in future then you are covered on xbox games anyway and should consider ps5. Either way I would still say ps5 is better. Even the older ps exclusives if you havent played them like uncharted series or last of us etc you can still play them on ps5 and they are absolutely generational games and still hold up well with thieir immersive story and gameplay.

Buy PS5 If you are specifically interested in playing their first party titles like God of War, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn, Last of Us etc. PS buy far has way more superior first party library.

If you aren't into Sony games them buy an Xbox and do the 30 months (people are facing issues with 3 years now) Xbox Gold to Game Pass Ultra conversion trick should save you a lot of money on games.

Mine experience has been great with PS5.. game quality, dual sense controller, product asthetics etc.. see, if you can get a rented one or loan from your pals. Give it a try for 3 weeks.
