Weird problem with electrical wiring

In my relative's house, the electrical wiring is really weird. The wiring is internal and the electrician (from builder) made some points in house that run off inverter. The inverter point is near the water tank and it is just a live wire (no neutral or earth) connected to a 15A socket.

I think that 15A plug he has given as source to tv point etc all over the house. This is giving rise to problems. He wanted to use extension cable on the TV socket but it did not turn on. If we attach any two pin appliance to the society directly it works. Even vacuum cleaner works. But 3 pin requiring ground not working. Ground is okay. There is ground and neutral connections in the junction box. Tried UPS and even that does not work. So we tried other 3 pin sockets and found problems in some. One 10A socket in kitchen doesn't even turn on. It blinks light for a second and goes off.

Is there a solution to this problem other than do complete wiring again? I don't understand what the electrician was thinking when he did the wiring. What is the reason they take only live wire from the inverter and connect it to whatever point they want? Why neutral is left alone?

that sounds like a very big fire hazard, I'd call other electricians and explain the situation to them and see what they say.

Please don't try anything else on your own as you never know what might go wrong and start a fire or electrocute someone.

This is the right way to do inverter connection - what your electrician did exactly right….problem lies elsewhere...even my home is also wired this way since 2000.

the main agenda to is to provide power when the LOAD cut down by the electricity board, inverter will take the place....so why run two wire. User need to carry forward the LOAD line a SINGLE Wire to the target appliances from the inverter’s back side outlet.

Imagine a bulb/ tube/ fan in your ceiling / wall and your switch board where 3 switch available.

Only LOAD Line is carried forward inside the switch box - not the NEUTRAL Line, each switch will cut / connect your 3 appliances according to your needs. Of course, those 3 appliances needs NEUTRAL Line to function light up or spin - So the (N) is present at the Bulb Holder, Fan Out Let and Tube Outlet which directly coming from Main Switch board Meter / Main MCB Array board / Trip Switch board/ junction box.

Now what about in that switch board a two pin 6A plug socket there.....Only in this case does NEUTRAL Line carry forward to the switch box in that 6A plug point and terminate at the (N) marked pin with LOAD Line which is also present beforehand...that is it, NEUTRAL Line will not carry forward any other switch in that following switch board.

What about 3 Pin 6A/ 10A/ 15A socket are also available in that board... Then the procedure is same as above with additional Ground / Earth Line.

According to Indian Electricity board 3 pin male / female socket

L = Right Side Pin = Red
N = Left Side Pin = Black
G = Top Pin = Green

But often due to cost cutting colour code didn't maintain by the electricians inside the switch board.
