A simple uncut unboxing video by @rkkaranrk can resolve all this confusion.
That is needed if those marks wasn't caused by op, op clearly didn't deny those marks so why would unboxing video be needed here.

@rkkaranrk since it's for your friend just ask if he can live with it, if not get the refund. Why stress over something that's not even for you.

never in my life will use the word Pristine again, even if its brand new, better to use simpler English words :(
To be fair it was misleading. When one sees the word pristine they expect the condition to be at least 9/10. The pictures you added makes it look like there are no scratches. The next time you want to highlight similar marks in a mobile use hard light sources to directly bounce off these marks and it'll be visible clearly like rkkaranrk's pictures. It's good that you offered refund, hope this gets resolved soon.

Only if i had purchased it for my own use would have returned for full refund, As said he is travelling and cannot send it back as of now.

It was misleading and unethical on the sellers part phone conditon, bargaining after receiving the full money.

Is it my fault that your friend is travelling and u are unable to send the phone back to me... ? If your friend was not happy or disappointed (like u mentioned) about the condition of the phone, he should have straight away returned it back to you, but you tell me he has gone on a business trip for 10-12 days and then will decide about returning phone once he is back..

I am no way accepting the return later.. I was very clear that on refund part if you had sent the phone the same day or the next day, thats all I could do as a seller.

Dude yes it your fault coz your are the one who had lied about the conditon only if u did not this would have been closed by now.

First u went greedy and 2nd u lied.

Also I asked u can he send it back after 10/12 days, Did not forced u to take it back. Don't worry if he does not keep it i will and will send your 2k which u wanted by end of day today. Take care.

Edit- Check the attached screen shot... Does it sounds like I'm forcing u to take it back after 10/12 days..... Read it. Don't try and show the good part by typing here share the facts.Only if have not lied. Things would have been different.

Lie ? what have I lied
stop using that word, u are speaking as though there is some hardware malfunction in the phone

As a seller, all I could do was offer return and refund, which I have done without any second thoughts. I even offered to not to take the 2k additional amount.

what else do u expect from a seller?
even Amazon or FK don’t have 10-12 days return policy.

I am still baffled why did u friend take the phone when he was not happy with the condition, knowing that he would be on a business trip for 10-12 days.

Its just waste of time exchanging words like this when there is no solution from ur end.

I will end it here.. thanks

Its hard for u to understand HE SOLD HIS PHONE TO BUY THIS AND HE DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ONE TO USE WAS USING A BASIC NOKIA PHONE.

I fail to see how is that the seller’s problem?

As far as the seller is concerned you are the buyer, your condition with your friend is your concern, not his.

You guys are getting angry and typing furiously. IRL you would be shouting irrationally at each other. Let’s be civil and negotiate.

I believe as an outsider to the deal, this is nothing but a case of honest misunderstanding. I believe neither one of you two should consider it a case of malicious intent but rather a mistake.

Here is what I see:

1. The buyer failed to use the best of their judgement while negotiating. They could have asked for more shots and asked more questions.

2. The seller also failed to highlight the products features which might have allowed the buyer to make a more informed decision.

3. The post-payment negotiation for higher price by the seller sowed the seed of distrust (as seen by the original dispute mentioning this).

4. The buyer felt unhappy with what they got. Now, they say they cannot return it for whatever reasons for 10-12 days.

5. The seller reasonably says that they cannot wait for the product to travel around for 10 days and then be returned.

Now, you two can come back to the negotiation again with calm heads and talk. We are mature adults. Such disputes are nothing that we cannot sort out by talking.

I would really encourage you guys to let your rational selves prevail and think of this dispute as a genuine case of misunderstanding from both the sides. It would be a shame if you guys end up hurting each others’ reputation just because you got upset and couldn’t talk.

Unfortunate that two respected and experienced guys had such a disagreement..

Nice that its being closed now, already stretched like hell.

Simple suggestions to all sellers and buyers..
Make boxing and unboxing videos, no matter what along with some gentlemanly conduct on their part.

Good luck to both the parties.

Its not 57k it's 59k as the seller wanted more after closing it for 57k.
Just adding my personal views here.
Never ever do business with a person who after accepting payment asks for more money, no matter how good the deal is.

The deal is closed the moment seller receives the payment. Any seller not following this cardinal rule is off my list, no matter how good is his feedback.

Disappointing to see few members trying to be judgemental and trying to malign marketplace reputation without knowing full story... its being projected like a fraud or crime was committed.
This issue was never about money, it was about condition/scratches on the bezels of the phone and nothing else, the money matter/negotiation was unnecessarily dragged to this discussion to give a different dimension..

I hope @puns locks this thread before more members add fuel to the fire.

-------

I had the below thread created for 3 xbox controllers on sale and one of the buyer had picked the one controller locally in here in Bangalore.

FS: Games - Xbox One wireless Controllers- 3 Controllers (SOLD) | TechEnclave - Indian Technology Community

Buyer reached out to me and informed the left analog stick has some stickyness and needs repair and he asked If I can refund a small portion of the deal amount so that he can get it repaired locally, I agreed and transfered the amount.

After few days the buyer again reached out to me and told me that the analog stick is not repairable and asked for refund... we had a discussion and I agreed to refund the full amount and he sent me back the controller.

This is how considerate I have been as a TE forum member, money was never the priority.

Don't let peoples judgement hurt you man.

I hope you just take it as a bad day and learn from it and move on now that this deal has been sorted out with the buyer.

Hope to see you active and keep going on forum.

I support the seller . He can definitely change his mind multiple times even after finalizing the deal . His product , his right . If you don’t like the price just don’t buy it .

Regarding condition of the phone . Seller did offer full return and it not the problem of seller that your friend suddenly after getting iPhone 13 went on a world tour. These excuses are old

^you may support the seller but once the asking is met, and the payment is made, the deal is concluded. Once the payment was accepted it was no longer his device. He’s free to price it, his device, but unless you adhere to certain rules and principles, it will be difficult to conduct business in good will. Asking for re-negotiating price after the asking has been met is not an action of good faith or keeping your word.

Condition etc is a different thing, and you can disclose these in description.

this certainly shouldn't be the approach. Once a deal is final, it is final. A seller backing out in case he decides not to sell the device is understandable.. but asking for more money after finalizing the deal only shows moral bankruptcy. Also exaggerating the condition of the item is a borderline scam. Had the current backed out and the device been shipped to the person who was offering 2000 Rs more, I'm sure he would've complained too about the actual condition of the device after receiving it. The buyer's mistake here is not returning the device despite feeling cheated(for whatever reasons). Glad that the seller and buyer have reached an understanding and the matter is closed for good.

Why is this renegotiation has become such a big moral issue now and not when this was actually going on . Why not bring it up then ?
It is like being equally part of the crime and when suddenly things went haywire just blame the other guy.
It is like using the situation to ones own advantage.

Once the payment has been made, it’s effectively the buyers device in the possession of the seller. You cannot ask for a higher price for an item which is effectively not yours anymore, just because it’s in your possession. This is not a moral argument but an ethical one.

Nice logic
