Amazing how the buyer very intelligently turned this discussion into a money matter which was never case…

If the buyer was so disturbed by the renegotiation he could have straight away rejected and asked for refund or he could have posted in this thread but he brilliantly chose to drag in the extra 2k matter and main issue has been left behind

If money was so important to me I could have straight away given reasons to the buyer that I will be unable to ship to your address and refunded him.. but I chose to directly talk to him.

Few here are experts in judging people and calling names… get a life

Once the payment has been made, it’s effectively the buyers device in the possession of the seller. You cannot ask for a higher price for an item which is effectively not yours anymore, just because it’s in your possession. This is not a moral argument but an ethical one.
I agree to your point bro but my point is this ....
If taking bribe is a crime giving bribe is also a crime.

Why is this renegotiation has become such a big moral issue now and not when this was actually going on . Why not bring it up then ?
It is like being equally part of the crime and when suddenly things went haywire just blame the other guy.
It is like using the situation to ones own advantage.
I think it is a question of good faith, not crime.

The market is based on trust. This trust encompasses commitment to the agreement. When you renegotiate after concluding, that trust is shaken then any minor issue can become a point of major dispute, as happened in this case.

I agree however that the buyer should have backed out. I would have.

Wow you want this to go on let’s do it.

It was money for u wait let me share the screen shots of what’s app here let other see, You were the one who came to me for more money after confirming the deal and you said will update the thread and after 2 hours u came to me asking 3o more. Be a man once a deal is done it’s done I my self sold a laptop to a fellow member for 5k less where I got an offer of 5k more from a member @mk76 Manish can confirm this. This was money matter for u at least not for me that extra 2k which I paid was going from my pocket as the guy who bought it told me u got me this phone its your problem how I get it to him for 57k, I don’t back out like u did.

As a buyer If I feel the deal was underpaid going by other offers I have all the rights to renegotiate, the question of morality or ethics just dont arise here.

If I had taken payment from multiple people for the same deal then I agree it would have been morally wrong.

Two other members contacted me and I very clearly told them I have received token payment and I will keep them informed.. once I received full payment, I immediately informed both the other prospective buyers that I have received full payment.

Then why did u asked me for more money? When I paid 57k?

Yes I asked for more and you agreed and the shipped the device… why was the money matter dragged to this discussion, its very clear u wanted to show be in bad light and take advantage of the matter (which was totally different and had nothing to do with money)

Yes coz u wanted more for something which was already mine. I paid u in full.

Well, not exactly. It depends on power dynamics.

Bribe and ransom are two different things and it all depends on who holds more power in that situation.

In a market both buyer with money and seller with goods have equal power, ideally.

In transaction, goods are exchanged and power dynamic remains the same.

But if either the buyer or the seller has both the money and the goods then the power dynamic shifts in their favour.

If the less powerful has to pay for what’s rightfully theirs then it stops being a bribe and becomes ransom. We don’t do Pay on Delivery as sellers due to the same reason because we fear that the power dynamic may shift in the favour of the buyer and they may not pay us or may not pay in full.

nope u didn’t pay me in full, stop lying..

you paid for the initially agreed amount.
You chose to play safe and hold the 2K and pay later… you paid the 2k today after creating ruckus in this thread for matter which could have easily been resolved.

You paying the 2k looked more like taking sympathy from other members here.

100% payment made, you are right in the sense that the deal is then completed.. In case of partial payment, a seller could be afraid of buyer stalling and might still accept or entertain other bids that could match or outbid the earlier one in case of the new person making immediate payment.

@MarioBros Is it me who is lying or you?

I think both buyer and seller should now call it off since this has been sorted it out.

As some of the members here were debating on renegotiation this got dragged further.

Like member here pointed out . This needs to handled maturely by both which now requires to move on.

yes this is correct, how can I deny this.. ?

Full amount is 59K (57k + 2k)... but u never paid full amount, u paid 57k only

the remaining 2k was paid only today.. you urself have posted this in the previous page.

Fair enough, I will move on..
I replied because I was hurt by few members judging me and using fancy words like morality and ethics without knowing the full story.

I now feel its silly to keep arguing like a kid ..

This whole renegotiation thing can be discussed in a general way among members on a specific thread for it.
And if there needs to be a rule for it.

So..Do you think after finalizing the deal for 57k firstly and received the full payment doesn't complete the deal? And since you have better offers laters it's not unethical to Demand the extra 2k? That is fancy itself..If you wanted to Sell it for 59k then why did you finalize the deal & accepted the 57k payment in first place and did you ask 2k more before you get the extra 57k? If you were in the buyers shoes what would have been in your Mind? You previously quoted that it's not about the Money, Then why you didn't just let the extra 2k pass since you got the Payment..

There should be no renegotiation once you agree to sell something and got the full payment.. Negotiation is done before you finalize not after you get the payment.. If you don't agree with buyers offer just pass it .. Renegotiation meaning holding someone's money and still looking for more buyers

The whole issue is not about the money, it is about the condition of the phone bezels... I negotiated again and the buyer agreed, there ended the matter
This should never have been discussed here.

Today he paid me 2k and I have returned it back, matter was closed but unnecessarily people like you are interfering and making it even worse and blowing it out of proportion.

Let the admins take a call on this negotiation matter and set a forum rule.. I have not broken any forum rule.

People should stop preaching others about ethics and morality and have look at themselves in a mirror.
