Bought used GPU from lebyo.in but accessory missing

Bought a used RTX A4000 from lebyo.in on 26th Jan 2023 and received it yesterday. The bill and the DP to HDMI adapter was missing which even they agreed is missing. It was visible in the GPU listing btw. After some talk they have agreed to refund the full amount but using bank cheque. I paid the amount using UPI and I asked them to do the refund using UPI and this is the response I got.
"Sir. Please understand this. The payment you did was on website. It has been credited. And even if we were to reverse it at the time of order, it would take 5-7 working days for reversal. That is not possible now. Check payment we can Do."

I just wanna know if it's some kind of limitation when using a payment service like razorpay or similar?

I am gonna have the refund reason, amount and method mentioned in an email and get their confirmation before proceeding. Any other thing I should consider before proceeding?

No, it's easy for them to refund via razorpay. They probably don't have the required amount in their account.

Do this before refund, have everything documented clearly including the chats

Why cant they refund via neft or rtgs or imps from their bank account. Cheques can bounce.
No idea. I was adamant on getting it via UPI but he said it isn't possible now. And kept on saying it can be done using cheque only. I am gonna drop him a message and ask about NEFT/RTGS/IMPS.

Yeah, I am gonna have their reply in the email stating the refund reason, method and amount.
I will try again tomorrow to try another method for refund. If all else fails, I think I would have to choose cheque and just hope it doesn't bounce.
But obviously gonna take legal action if that happens.

Worse case ask for bank draft at your expense. Else goodluck with case u/s 138 for chq bounce. Lets us know how it went after a couple of years. And remember in either scenario the chq/draft is always in the mail.

It’s a fairly expensive card - and the accessory you are talking about is available for a really small sum (A DP to HDMI cable costs pretty much the same as a HDMI to HDMI)
There is obviously no foul play by seller coz they gain nothing by keeping it.

It may seem unfair at first glance but realistically speaking, buying used always comes with some caveats and this seems like a genuine mistake since they are willing to process full refund.
And yes, if you paid via UPI through a payment gateway, the seller will be incurring a small loss as the gateway would have deducted a fee from what you paid .

If I were you (and the card itself is as described), I would keep the card and just get a DP to hdmi cable from amazon

Just a question, why not ask for a small refund to cover the accessories/inconvenience. This might save you time and is less risky. (If they provide you a soft copy of the bill that is)

Well, I did ask him to send me the adapter but he has a silly reply. Not available with us. I mean, order it for me at my place, how hard it is going to be but seems like he doesn't want to help and only pretend that he wants to.

He was giving me a refund of 200 for the adapter and that too not by himself but only when I asked for it and pressured him. But that refund is also gonna be in the form of voucher which can be used in next purchase. I certainly don't wanna deal with them again so not accepting that.

Btw, I had asked him for pickup from his shop because I was in Delhi that day but he didn't respond to my msg so I just ordered it. This is only a single instance where he tried to be smart but there are many.

So if he wants to play smart, I am not gonna let it go easily.

Yeah I can buy it surely but why should I?
I paid for it. Didn't I?
And buying a local one won't have the same quality as the one given by nvidia themselves. Right?
After a few weeks/months, if it does then I would have to buy another.

And the thing you are talking about full refund is also not something that he did from the start. He was deducting 450 for shipping from the refund. It's not like I am refunding it because I don't like the product or something. He didn't add the adapter on the box so it's upto him. Then he agreed for a full refund.

I am okay if he still agress to send me an adapter but I don't think he will.

Just went to their site. I think its safer to buy on FB via the admin method, in one of the more reliable groups, than Lebyo.in!

I do not know this shop but buying used, esp from an unknown shop is always somewhat risky.
Sometimes you will get lucky and everything will be perfect.
SOmetimes, it will turn out to be a complete lemon and then you may have to waste your precious time towards a resolution.
More often that not, there will however be minor issues..

maybe an open box item will have collected more dust that what you'd have thought..
Maybe a used phone will have more micro-scratches that what you would have expected.
Whether this expectation mismatch is worth the money saved by buying used is a personal cakk.

FOr this particular case, A DP to HDMI adapter is a trivial item.. I probably have a bunch of them sitting in my cupboard. Replacement cables from AMazonbasics/cablecreation are cheap and pretty much the same quality as the OEM one that would have come with card.
When we ourselves exchange old products such as phones, the exchange collection person will also often not collect all minor accessories since this is how the used market works.

While I won't say what the seller has done is right - but do you really want to waste your time and effort on pursuing this? Thats a call only you can answer.
