Long story,
So my brother has been using poco X3 pro since mid 2021, the phone has give up (less than 2yrs use) recently, local repair shop guy saying charging ic need to be replaced but parts not available in market and service centre wants to replace the motherboard not logical money wise, he's student.

We have been frustrated by this incident.
Have had to repair poco F1 previously but not faced such annoyance.

Now planning to buy new phone, main requirement is should be long lasting hw wise atleast aftermarket spares availablity in case something goes bad.

I know it's open ended question, but I'm biased towards Samsung now, what would be you guys suggestions?

Thanks for reading.

Don't want to highjack the discussion here but
Post in thread 'Pixel 4A - Battery not lasting' https://techenclave.com/threads/pixel-4a-battery-not-lasting.209735/post-2411293

I loved my Pixel and it's compact size and amazing pictures but I really got fed up of it dying on me all the time.
Even the new 6a barely lasts a day
4a has worse battery life than 6a for sure. My friend has 6a & is satisfied with it. Sadly no SOT number from stock android. Anyways, OP not considering 6a, but it still gets a recommendation for most people from me because of OS, size & cameras at 30k.

Update:
The repair guy has hinted he can try salvage mobo from physical damage phones coming in their group, had estimated 5-6k rupees cost and suggests it will atleast last around 6 months, so I'm tempted to go with this option as it's still cheaper than service centre estimate and later during bbd/major sale buy new phone and give this in replacement (hopefully will get extra discount of 5-6k) so no nett loss and minimal out of pocket expenses now.

And again thanks alot for suggestions, you guys are helpful, will consider each thoroughly when actually buying.

I found out today that my olx Poco X4 pro was given as exchange for a dead X3 pro when i tried to get extended warranty at the service center - the IMEI was from an X3 pro and things clicked for the service guy. Looks like xiaomi has given up on it too and replacing it with other devices. I think that 6K is a risky investment
