Monitors Suggestion for a monitor around 20K mark

Hello,

So my almost decade old Dell Ultrasharp U2311h monitor has recently developed 2 horizontal lines. So, I guess its time to say goodbye to it and I am looking for a decent monitor that can last me for another few years. What's the best monitor that I can have around 20K range? Main usage is watching movies, and casual gaming (GPU is 3070, if that's of any relevance), and tiny bit of office related work. I am not sure which size or resolution to pick as I was quite happy with 1080p60 monitor. But i see that these days, 27" 1440p is the new sweet spot.

Would prefer to have inbuilt USB ports like my existing monitor but its not a dealbreaker. So guys, please suggest me one.

Hi

You may have to stretch your budget as it's unlikely to get you any 27" 1440p good monitor for up to 20K - your 3070 is a plus point

I bought a monitor primarily for office work, so I went for LG's 29 inch ultra wide. It's the cheapest UltraWide, lacks lot of features but it is good at this price point. Lacks 1440p though !
I do use it for my PS5 games and I'm okay with it (But I've never done long term gaming on 4k or anything so that might be the reason)
 
If you could up your budget a little and gpu you have I will suggest going for a 1440p 165hz monitor maybe.
Some suggestions are:

has a KVM switch as well, good when you want to connect 2 systems to 1 monitor and switch keyboard and mouse with 1 button on the monitor .

But if you want to stick to 20k budget get any LG ultragear (ultragears) 1080p 144hz ones, you will get a height adjustable stand and a good monitor overall.
 
I can extend my budget to 25k. But not going to extend more than that.

I also see that the 32 inch of the Gigabyte monitor is also within 25k. Is it a good buy? Or should I stick to 27 inches ?
Btw, not in any hurry to get the monitor as one of the lines suddenly disappeared yesterday. I can wait to get a good deal.

Large size, budget grade monitors are less uniform in terms of brightness, contrast so 27' is a sweet spot in this budget. 2nd problem is the distance from the screen. I sit about 3 foot from my Acer 27' 1440p monitor and it is just enough. I don't think 32' is the right size for this distance. Most people sit about 2 foot away from their monitor so 27' 1440p is the optimum size. It will be a good upgrade over a 24 inch 1080p monitor both in terms of size and pixel density.
Acer 272 Kv I suggested has
1) Usb pass through and Display port cables in the box
2) 4 USB-3 ports.
3) Very good color accuracy out of the box without any calibration in SRGB mode.
4) Fully adjustable stand.
5) Bezel less good looking design.
6) 170 Hz refresh rate and no power brick. Power brick is inbuilt so it has a cleaner profile.

But according to the articles, i should go for a 24' 1080p monitor as my desk is just around 2 feet across.

The ACER ticks almost everything. My only concern is the after sales service and longevity of the monitor. I want my monitor to last for at least 7-8 years. Monitor and case are the only thing which I never upgraded in the last decade.

Will share some TIPs ;) - based on my personal experiences @joy.das.jd

1. Whenever we wish to upgrade - to ANYTHING in Life - It's usually for the BETTER :D - the point in your case is of a Monitor & a Screen Size Upgrade Matters!!!
[Today there are a plethora of choices to make & ALL within your budget - falling back on a 24" (which is a neglible 5-8% increase in screen size only) vs a 27" at 1440p is a massive jump o_O] - I would chose the latter.

You have had a Dell Ultrasharp U2311h which served you well.

Now you are having to decide between 24" BECAUSE OF YOUR DESK SPACE?DEPTH :banghead: (which comes in at only 2K 1080p at this budget).
or a 27" 1440p - which you can get within 25K ..... CHILL BRO :grin:

2. My own desk depth is 26" somewhat similar to yours
(measured from Wall to the edge of the Desk) and I have decided to go in for BENQ PD2700U – 27 INCH 60 HZ 4 MS - see my post on TE
I will be using it at 2160p - 4K resolution at all times.
SOLUTIONS :blush:
a] I will Wall Mount the 27" BenQ Monitor (which will push it a few inches behind as compared to using it's desktop stand!!)
b] Now MY ACTUAL WORKING Distance - Between Monitor to my Eyes will be a convenient 2.6 to 2.10 ft - that's (30 to 34 inches - which is the best optimal distance for this monitor)

Similarly @powervgx has suggested valid technical reasons for 27" vs 32"

c] A 32" Monitor is more of a gimmick for Home Users/Gamers and especially when in a low budget category - It's frustrating as you would realize the PQ is pathetic.
However, in a typical STUDIO setup (where one is working with a minimum 3 monitor setup - where there are 2 Primary Monitors or One - is usually of a 24" or 27" (think of a simple Dell or LG or BenQ along with an Eizo) and the Final Output Display Monitor can vary from a 42" to 65" or more (projected output on a large screen) - BUT all this is a Bloody Costly venture amounting to over Rs 5L at least!!!

d] Concluding Thoughts:
Sadly - Why is a Monitor is the MOST NEGLECTED COMPONENT of any BUILD!
A vast majority of us may not hesitate to go in for the latest and the best
- say a 1000W PSU with either a 13900K with a 4090 Ti or AMD 7000 series and 7900 ATX and top it up with 64GB RAM and Liquid Cooling systems - then Fall Back on an AVERAGE MONITOR :wtf:

Pray - what use is spending a fortune on all else - WHEN THE VISIBLE OUTPUT OF THESE BEAUTIES (and which is ALL THAT SHOULD MATTER!!) comes crawling out through a lousy monitor!

Go for the best 27" 1440p - you will NEVER regret it :grin:
 
If you decide on a 32 inch monitor, I suggest Acer 32 inch linked here based on the requirement.

I have been using this myself and has been serving me well, great infact. My use case has been mainly excel and product research but it also handles youtube quite good as well in my opinion.

Also, Acer support is pretty quick in there response, I raised a service request one day and had their support team call me the next morning. Turns out I had a bad GPU and not bad monitors.

I have seen the Dell monitor at around 20-22k (don't remember exact price) more than once (during different sales). I think someone here on TE got the Dell for under 20k too.

Acer usually sells for 24-25k (non-sale pricing). Can be had for 22k (sale + CC discounts).
