You budget is actually a constrain for a decent upgrade.

You can get a 12400f + compatible h610 Mobo from gigabyte ( like the Gigabyte H610M S2 / Asus Prime H610M-E D4 ) + 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM ( Corsair / CRUCIAL / ADATA) should fit within budget. This will be the best bang for your buck configuration.

But your GPU 1050 is too weak for Harry Potter legacy or future GTA. You need to have GTX 1660 super for decent full HD gameplay.

Yeah, you're not gonna be able to play those AAA games with that budget.

The budget you stated will get eaten up by only one component, the GPU but since you said you'll upgrade that later the above suggested config by @joy.das.jd is best bang for buck. I'm using same CPU + Asus mobo combo with 32GB RAM and RTX 3070 for gaming myself.

Upgrade PSU as well when you upgrade the GPU. Don't buy anything lower than 750W 80+ Gold if you're buying a GPU worth 20-30K.
Also, down the line 1-2 years, 16GB RAM won't be enough for AAA gaming on PC hence I would say buy 16GB single stick now and buy another stick when you upgrade since you'll have only 2 slots on cheap mobos otherwise you'll have to sell your 2x 8GB kit.

How is this processor? Which mobo should be best for this?

This is a good processor but for gaming purpose the i5 12400f is still much more value. They are almost identical processor with the 13400f having 4 extra e core which are NOT that great for gaming. They are mostly useful for some background work.

And the same Mobo and RAM will work with this processor also.

Instead of going to this processor , it's better to stick to 12400f+h610 and use 32 GB of RAM. Or get a better Motherboard like the MSI b660. You can use an i7 12700/13700 processor at a later date of you feel the need. The VRM on a better motherboard will be easily able to handle all those processors.

It's basically a downclocked 12600KF. At your budget I wouldn't try to get it and pair with a cheap H610. A decent B660 board is what I'll recommend with that CPU as it can go upto 150W TDP when boosting and it'll boost quite often.

Decent B660 boards will start around 15-16K which makes you go over budget without even including RAM.

Based on your requirements and budget, here is a suggested hardware configuration:
CPU: Intel Core i5-11600K (approximately 20,000 INR) Motherboard: ASUS Prime B560M-A WiFi (approximately 13,500 INR) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (approximately 7,000 INR)
The i5-11600K is a 11th gen processor that offers excellent gaming performance and is well-suited for video editing tasks as well. The ASUS Prime B560M-A WiFi is a compatible motherboard that offers good value for money and comes with built-in Wi-Fi. The Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM is a reliable choice that offers good performance and is compatible with the selected motherboard.
With this configuration, you should be able to play HD games and watch 4K HDR/Dolby Vision content on your TV without any issues. Premiere Pro should also run smoothly for video editing tasks. The GeForce GTX 1050 GPU that you currently have should work well with this setup, although you may want to upgrade it in the future for even better gaming performance.
Keep in mind that you may need to update your BIOS before installing the new CPU, so be sure to check the motherboard's manual for instructions on how to do this. Additionally, make sure that your PSU is compatible with the new hardware and has sufficient wattage to power the system.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. I was only considering a 13th gen CPU so that I could go for DDR5 ram, for future compatibility etc. Though of course, DDR5 motherboards would be very expensive. Am I right in making these assumptions?

You can still use DDR5 with 12 gen. But the motherboard alone will cost approximately 23k and then add another few thousands for DDR5 RAM. On top of that you will get support for lower speed DDR5.

So it makes more sense to stick to DDR4 for the time being. And INTEL processor performance don't scale that much with higher speed of RAM.

ADATA XPG Spectrix D50 16GB (16GBx1) DDR4 3200MHz RGB RAM (Tungsten Grey) AX4U320016G16A-ST50

Is this RAM good for the 12400f + compatible h610 Mobo combo?

Here's what I finally went with:

INTEL Core I5 12400F - 14750/-
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (1x16GB) DDR4 3200MHZ - 3750/-
Gigabyte H610m H - 7350/-

There was only one dealer in my area who had stock and was ready to home deliver sealed boxes within an hour, so I decided to go with that rather than wait 4 days for all the components to arrive individually from Amazon (though I could have saved a few hundred that way:greedy:.)

Assembled it last night and it is working fine. Thanks to everyone for their invaluable inputs!
