PC Peripherals Wireless Mouse & Keyboard range issues

I'm using these wireless keyboard & mouse. Currently, the USB receiver is connected to motherboard and I can't really use them farther than about 50cm from the receiver. Is this how it is or does the reception get better with costlier mouses?

Try connecting usb receiver on the front panel, it'll definitely improve performance. I'm also using this keyboard along with M235 mouse on my htpc and I'm able to operate it from 10ft+ distance.

If this USB port is too close to an in-use HDMI port, try moving the receiver to a different USB port. This is just a guess because it happened to me. When plugged in close to HDMI cable, the reception was poorer for me. Just shifting to a different port made it much better.

Try connecting usb receiver on the front panel
This what I used to do for years; never had lag/connectivity issues. But recently switched to an ITX build and had to lose front panel USB connection to get fans in.

If there are other 2.4Ghz devices or interferences then that'll also limit range
There are 2 receivers for keyboard and mouse each. I bought just the keyboard long before I bought the mouse. I thought every Logitech mouse would work with the unifying USB, later got to know that this is not the case.

So, another cheap mouse that'd work with the keyboard's USB would fix this?

+1, Had similar issues. Thought the battery was dying but turns out connecting to the front panel & sort of dispersing all the adapters to different ports away from each other helps with connection & range.
