Hi guys,i planned to buy a new msi rtx 3060 gaming x 12gb ddr6 but my frnd suggested me to go with msi rtx 3060 ti ventus 2x.
But i saw some reviews that ventus is a entry level and also cooling performance and vrm are not great that much compared to msi gaming x model.
Some reviewers are listing some models according to tier wise this ventus model is in around 'D' tier list and also they are not recommanding this model.
Help me guys to pick up the right one?

We can't really recommend without knowing how much you've set aside for the GPU.

That being said, if they are both for a similar price 3060ti will definitely offer more performance than the 3060 regardless of the tier list

Thx chanwa_pwkash for ur reply......
My only concern is msi ventus or msi gaming x
Bcoz gaming x offers better cooling and vrm performance compared to ventus.......
I planned for offline purchase. so,shop don't have 3060ti gaming x model they had only ventus 2x oc model.
I read some review that this ventus is nt good compared to gaming x.....
So i decided instead of 3060ti gaming x i'm planning to go with 3060 gaming x......
Any suggestion?

3060ti no doubt! Btw what brand you will be opting for ?
Thx nRiTech for ur reply.....
That's the only confusion i'm having.i saw some list of good rtx 3060 and 3060ti graphics card in youtube. In both the reviews msi gaming x model offers better cooling and vrm and the tier list was around 'B'.
But the msi ventus 2x oc model perfoms weak cooling and vrm and the tier list was around 'D'.......
That's the only thing running in my mind. whether need to go with msi ventus 2x oc 3060ti or msi gaming x 3060.......
Any suggestion pls.....

Even on a "lower end" 3060Ti, it shouldn't overheat out of the box & you can always undervolt the GPU.

That being said, at current Indian prices (30-32k), 3060 is a bad choice. 3060Ti at 35k is decent, but if running games at 1440p, 8GB VRAM hurts in some games (I own 3070 & FH5 and Hogwarts are 2 examples). So if I had to buy a GPU today for gaming, it will be 6700XT.

This is a 3 fan card, so will be good thermal wise as well.

3060Ti & 6700XT are on a different performance class, heck cheaper 6650XT (27-28k) outperforms 3060 12GB. Just check some reviews.

Yep, VRAM is one of the most important factors in recent gaming. Check TLoU. People with 3060ti can't even set textures above Medium. Their game's even crashing. But 3060 are enjoying Ultra Textures with Smooth 60FPS.
VRAM should be at least 12Gigs ( YEP MINIMUM 12GB of VRAM is a must if you are planning to buy new GPU ).

Check out Intel Arc A770.

It's much better choice if you plan to use Ray Tracing. Or go with 6700XT as @OMEGA44-XT said.

But please don't buy any NVIDIA GPU right now except 3060 12GB ( If you get it around 25K to 28K ) or 3080ti and above unless you are this person.

A770 needs to be a good 8-10k cheaper to be worth recommending IMO. Its performance is a tier below 6700XT/3060Ti, as simple as that. 6650XT is 27-28k here. Pay for the performance you get today, not what you might get in future. Sadly RT is not worth it even at this performance class as most will just prefer 1440p gaming, not to forget the poorly optimised games being released.

Add The Last of Us to the list of games where 8GB VRAM is not enough for a good 1440p gaming experience with 8GB VRAM, the game is just poorly optimised.

I saw that in your previous posts that you were looking to build a PC for video editing and 3d works. If this GPU is for that build. I would suggest you go with the 3060 12Gb VRAM model. I think the 8GB VRAM on the 3060ti might be a small bottleneck when it comes to 3D work.

Please do let us know your use case and budget so the community can give you the information you need to make your choice

Unless you're doing ML/Deep learning, There isn't a big difference/reason to go NVIDIA as it doesn't give the best price/performance ratio. (used deals may offer slightly different opinion but if we're considering new then yep) For gaming, you'd be better off with AMD cards with higher VRAM as suggested by many.

Many 3070 /80 users are reporting game crashes due to 8gb vram. Unbelievable.

Performance difference between 3060 and 3060Ti is huge. 3060 Ti is very close to 3070 in performance. However only 8GB of VRAM is it's biggest drawback. But I would still suggest 3060 Ti as for gaming you will still get good performance on most of the games. If your use case is not gaming and is other productivity tasks like deep learning, rendering etc go with 3060 as high VRAM in this case will help.
Also I found @OMEGA44-XT 's advice really good. With 6700 XT you will get both performance and VRAM, the only thing you will miss is DLSS, RT but again that's not a big deal anyway.

If op has good budget then better to get a 12gb or more vram gpu rather than choking in 8gb and then regret sooner or later. Topic was about 3060 and all amds and 12gbs made their way in :tearsofjoy:
