WTB LG C2 42 OLED or 32ich 4k High refresh monitors.

I'm currently using the Odyssey Neo G7 4k. Its pretty amazing for hdr content(movies and shows). Just beware of samsung qc. If you do decide to buy the neo g7 go for the Mini LED 32" one not the other 43" one.

I've looked at so many options and im so confused.. the options are firstly so limited and the price is all over the place here in india.

The G7 and G8 look very gamery and RGb in the front is just lol and i'm thinking if im spending this much money maybe spend a little more on oled.

C2 is too big and i'll have to make adjustments to my existing setup to accomadate it.. then comes the risk of burn-in and text qaulity is very poor.

The alienware AW3423 and Samsung oled G8 is so expensive and still just 1440p.

MSI MPG32UD has bad reviews on reddit and still is in the price range of C2.

Seems there are plus points but negatives attached to everything. :\ Any recommendations are welcome!

Dont buy the OLED G8, samsung is coming up with a V2 OLED G8 in 2-3 months according to rumors.
And yea its really confusing. Every monitor has negatives :(
I suggest looking up hardware unboxed videos on youtube. It took me 2-3 weeks to finalize aswell, decided to avoid oled due to burn in issues and text readability thing. The text thing is upto Microsoft to fix

I picked up the LG C2 42 last year. It's not too big, at least for me as it replaced two of my monitors(1 27 inch and one 24 inch kept in portrait mode). As for Burn in, The EVO Panel is very resilient to burn in, especially when compared to samsung OLED's. Yes i agree text quality may not be up to the mark due to the sub pixel arrangement, But Clear type can fix it to a very large degree. The only thing that you will miss is the DP support.

But as far as I know, Gsync or freesync only works over DP. So aren't you getting terrible screen tearing and stuttering on your LG C2?
Even I was looking into buying 42 inch LG C2 but went for samsung 28inch SG28G70, this once comes with an IPS panel and is an excellent monitor but because of IPS panel contrast ratio is not good which totally mess up the HDR content. Other than that it's a very good montior, it's 4k 144hz panel with excellent response time.

HI, HDMI 2.1 is compatible with both G-Sync and FreeSync. My Nvidia control panel detects the C2 as a G-Sync compatible display.

I moved from a 2k 165HZ IPS Acer Predator to an LG C2 and was able to compare them side by side on a fast-paced FPS. The C2 just blew away the Predator. There is no competition when it comes to motion in OLED vs LCD. LCD's response time can never match the instantaneous response time of an OLED. You have to see them side by side to believe it. The C2 is by far the best display I've used till date.

Interesting my samsung monitor also has HDMI 2.1 but freesync and Gsync does not work with HDR on 4k on HDMI. HDR+4k+Gsync only works over DP for me.

Guys i was eyeing the M32U new at 63k.. but the Acer CG437K is now on sale for 49k, should i get that over the M32u? Recommendations pls.

If you wanna watch/consume HDR content I would still suggest the odyssey neo g7 over these 2 as it has 1196 FALD zones, compared to the 16 in these 2 and its just a few thousand more than the M32U. FALD zones in non OLEDs makes a huge difference for hdr and contrast. But if hdr is not your priority then you can go with either of the other two

Don't go for M32U if HDR is your priority. It has IPS panel and AFAIK it uses the same panel as on my Samsung S28G70, just bigger in size. You will be disappointed with HDR performance. IPS panels are terrible with HDR because of limitations in Contrast ratio unless it has FALD.
If HDR is not on your top list and is something you can ignore you can go for M32U, but since you will be spending this much on M32U why not get a monitor which can perform all round including HDR.

Thank you guys.. think im gonna go with either the G7 or G8 or the C2 only.
Yep. Just beware of the different G7s and G8s. Samsung naming is dogshit. Get the Neo G7 32" VA one, Dont get the 28" one and dont get the neo g8(the 4k 240hz one), it has a lot of firmware, qc and other issues. Or go for the C2 if size isn't an issue

The C2 wins hands down. I have a 42 C2, and I moved from an Alienware AW3423DW. The text issue is easily fixed with MacType.
My usage is photo editing, video editing, spreadsheets, and 10% gaming.
Isn't Alienware AW3423DW is also OLED ? In what ways C2 is better, apart from resolution as Alienware is 1440P ultrawide while C2 is 4k. Any other major difference ?

Mainly resolution and the lack of reflections.

The usable 4K - 42" means 100% Windows scaling at 3840*2160 - results in multiple tasking like a dream. I literally use the entire screen like 2-3 small monitors.

The Alienware is not a pure black when there's even a little bit of light falling on it from behind. The C2 is a huge improvement on that front.

Honestly, if I was purely pc gaming, the Alienware is brilliant. But the C2 is just more versatile. I use it as an ultrawide 3840*1600 for some fps games for fun too. And I have my PS5 connected to it too.

Both are great options.
Also the C2 is faaaaar cheaper haha.

Thanks for clearing this up. However what about burn in. AW3423DF is meant to be used as monitor hence has mechanism to greatly reduce burn in risk while C2 is meant to be used as TV, hence risk is greater when repurposed as monitor.
What are your thoughts regarding this. Sorry for bothering but I'm also looking into buying a C2, so want to make sure few things.
Also 42 inch C2 price is around 98k in Amazon. While you can get AW3423DF and Neo G8 Oled for 1.19k around 19k difference not far cheaper actually.

I got my C2 for around 74k via Vijay Sales back in Dec 2022. Add the 28% gst and it was a crazy deal. Looks like the prices are up now.

As for burn in, I took this call after reading the many many long term reviews by creators and productivity users for this display as a desktop monitor. If it lasts me 2-3 years also without any problems, it's a way better deal than compromising with a lower resolution.
