FWIW, the promoters of this company are old acquintances of mine from ISB hyderabad.
They did solicit my inputs and this was a part of my recommended list - Although at that time, I did not realize they will actually include this in their portfolio..:tongueclosed:

This was a few months ago and their intent at that point was to try match, if not beat US prices for premium offerings and to get mid-tier options at value tier prices..Largely focused on gaming peripherals and other geek interest products.

I think the pre-order at this time is solely to create market interest for the upcoming launch and not for any funding needs- so I personally wouldn't really recommend pre-ordering at this stage and to wait till the actual release.

For full disclosure - I am not directly affiliated with them but do have an active interest in their venture , especially now that this thread got created.
Also, if there are any specific product recos from TE, I will be passing it along to them.
I will also try check on the expected launch date and pricing and update here if its available

So I spoke to the folks today. Certifications and rest of the customs/legal formalities are completed for a bunch of products as well as the Gulikit.
April end is what they are targeting for this as well as several other products (mech keyboards , mid tier and value game controllers etc).

One downer though: Apparently they had setup a no-questions returns policy like Amazon US for their test launch products on Amazon India.
However the sheer rate of trial returns (for fun ?) and COD undeliverables (Customer rejects delivery/does not pick up phone) on Amazon India are way way higher than any other country.

Trial returns are probably worse than COD rejects as they cannot, in good faith, list used/ opened returns for a sale again .
Add the 18% GST (vs much lower sales taxes in US states), significantly higher customs duty and that throws a big monkey wrench on their original pricing projections.

They still have some cash to burn so their initial pricing plan hopefully remains unchanged , at least to begin with - but they have decided to switch over to a standard replacement policy as against a no-questions returns for the test launch items as well as the rest of the portfolio.

I used to complain about the lack of returns policy on Indian ecommerce but I guess Indian online retail has a long way to go before it reaches anywhere close to the level of maturity seen elsewhere :(

long way to go

OT, but that's never going to happen — it's one of the downsides of a higher population density, the percentage of people acting in bad faith goes up almost logarithmic instead of linear. A combination of someone doing it and showing off, herd mentality and selfishness/entitlement.

Companies will need to recognize and adapt to this, like how Amazon is imposing conditions on returns (I've had to send photos with handwritten name/date and valid exif data to initiate a return for Rs 500 product) and Flipkart has an open box delivery policy (or so i've heard).

I have to say. I am enjoying the controller. Have done a lot of gaming sessions with it. Don't have the thought back in my mind of stick drift etc.

Sounds like systems/Chaos theory. I've always thought if the business generated was enough then the fraud was not a problem.

The example usually cited is credit card companies. 1% or a little more loss due to fraud. Business is still viable.

Now that 1% two decades ago worked out to over a $billion in the US. It's likely much higher today.

Hmm, i will have to keep this in mind if i do a return. Swiggy has recently started asking for photos of orders where items you paid for are missing. They are easier to deal with.

That’s correct.
Catch is it holds good only beyond a certain viability threshold for large businesses and not for emerging / small businesses.

Also, specifically for India, even large sellers on a gigantic platform like Amazon had to remove the option for returns and switch to a replacement policy.

I still believe a larger proportion of people act in good faith while ordering. But the percentage who will indulge in returns abuse (if available) here is certainly higher than in the west.
Maybe 2-4% (viable) vs 20-25% (unviable)?

the gulikit one is a tier 1 controller.. While gamesir also makes good equipment (I have the gamesir X2) but its not in the same tiering as the former by a wide margin.

On a side note, I received mine today. Paid a little under 6K with some coupon I had received.
First impressions are quite good as it is visually / physically a rather striking controller...
Will be testing it out later tonight to see if the performance actually holds up against the promise

Congratulations.
The striking part is the analog sticks and trigger. But the mechanical buttons are a little bit mushy.

Thanks - I do quite like it.. I am not much into fighters or for that matter any genre that uses the Dpad so I dont think I mind the buttons.

Played TLOU2 (PC) for about an hour in continuation from the xbox SX controller that I was playing it with.
Overall It seems to be a well thought out design and package - esp the inclusion of the carry-case .
I was worried about how it fares against the Series X joystick I was using so far but it definitely feels like a good step-up from it

I have yet to try out the customizations and adjustments it offers but overall, quite pleased .

My bad. I was talking about abxy button. For me it was very mushy for mechanical buttons. But it seems to be intended from their side.

@r4hul did you get the Gulikit controller? Can you share a review? I'm also looking to get one just not sure which one to go with
I got mine from reddit not from this site.
As for review of the controller. It's below:-
The controller build quality is premium and It is made to open. Grip is nice and the comfort is too good just like xbox controller.
Triggers are analog and uses hall sensors too. So good. Should buttons are tactile.
Now comes the face buttons. Dpad is awesome, perfect for fighting games. Joystick, those are butter, the hall sensor experience just so nice. Although the abxy buttons are mechanical but they give membrane button feel. Some like it some dislike and I am in the latter group. So I did a mod and made them linear.

Connectivity:- even though it has Bluetooth, the latency is much more than xbox controller. But not that high that you will miss a shot etc. However, I use mine with cable. It has 4 inputs. Dinput for older windows games, switch input as pro switch controller and xinput for newer windows games and simple Android mode.
It has more features like amibo scan for Nintendo games and more but in my usage there was no need to use them.
Mind you this controller is made as a switch pro controller.
All in all, 8.5/10. 1.5 points for latency.
This can be fixed via firmware but it depends on the gulikit to release.

This is my personal review. For more professional review please watch below:-
