Budget 90k+ Need a new gaming PC

Hello everyone,
I’m a working professional finally looking to get myself a decent gaming PC. I used to follow the world of PC components a few years back, but now I’m completely out of touch. I’m looking at both pre-built PCs, and purchasing components and getting a PC built myself.

My requirements:

I’m not looking for a high-end configuration. At this point I’ll be very happy if I can run Dirt Rally 2.0 and BeamNG drive smoothly above 100FPS on medium settings: I don’t want the lowest graphics, but I don’t need the best settings either. I’m guessing if these games run smoothly, other major game titles will do the same. Also, I am completely fine with 1080p resolution, but wouldn’t mind running games in 1440p either.

Other than that, I’ll be doing some light video/photo editing on Premier Pro/Photoshop/Lightroom as well, but this is secondary.

My Budget:

The most I can spend on this is ₹1 lac. (monitor excluded)

My research so far:

For a pre-built PC, I was looking at something like the Lenovo IdeaCenter Gaming 5 (link, ₹97k) or the HP Victus 15L (link, ₹77k), both on Amazon.

I did also check out PC builds, and after a few hours of research came up with the following:
CPU: Intel Core i5 13400F
Motherboard: Asus Prime B760M-A D4
GPU: Asus Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6X
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB x2 DDR4 3200MHz
SSD: WD Black SN770 1TB M.2 NVMe
PSU: Corsair RM750e SMPS Gold
Cabinet: Deepcool CC650 Limited ATX
Monitor: Acer Nitro XB272U KV 27-inch WQHD IPS

The value of the build in my cart on mdcomputers.in is just under ₹1 lac, and the monitor costs around ₹22k on amazon.

My questions:

Should I go for a pre-built PC, or build one myself?

If pre-built, which ones do you recommend?

If self-built, is my collection of components the best for the price point? Should I go for a different model in any of the components? Are there any problems with my collection of components?

Looking forward to your replies. Thanks in advance!

I would say build one yourself. You'll get better quality, performance, and warranty.

Your processor motherboard are fine. For SSD, you can get Samsung 970 evo plus and save 1k without compromising on quality.

For graphics card, I would recommend getting a 3080, 3080Ti, or 6800XT through used route. There are cards available with remaining warranty in the market and reseller sections here. And lots of them on Facebook groups as well. While not strictly necessary, these will provide great 1440p performance for some time to come. 3060Ti may start struggling at 1440p pretty soon with latest games.

I would definitely recommend getting 32 GB RAM. Again, while not strictly necessary, the price difference is not huge and the extra RAM can be handy at times.

That HP pre built actually looks decent, but pre builts often include terrible parts to provide the bare minimum of a PC to buyers. Custom is definitely the way to go, you could also enlist the help of shops to build it for you.

Instead of 13400F, you could go with the i5 12400F or ryzen 5 5600, all 3 provide identical performance in gaming and are still plenty enough for multi core workloads.

GPU, RTX 3060 Ti is good for the titles you plan on playing, but the RX 6700 is usually cheaper and offers same level of performance, with an extra 2 GB of VRAM

Motherboard, this comes with wifi, non WIFI variant goes for 1k lesser.

I really like your custom build, the only thing I'd recommend is deciding between 6700xt or 3060ti according to whichever one you get cheaper.

And if you're going to get a motherboard that has GEN4 support then might as well splurge 1k extra on an SSD that has GEN4 speeds. Arguably that's one of the few useful changes that matter when it comes to PCIE generations. I'd recommend something reliable like Crucial P3 plus GEN4

You can go for a Ryzen 7600 build if its mainly for gaming.

I am planning for a similar build for a friend so suggestions are welcome.

- Ryzen 5 7600 (Non X comes with a cooler) - 19.5k
- Gigabyte B650M Gaming X Wifi- 15.5k
- XPG Core reactor 850w - 8.5k
- XPG Lancer 16GB DDR5 - 4.5k (You can go with 16x2 if your budget allows)
- Deepcool CC650 - 3k
- XPG S70 Blade 1TB - 6.1k
That leaves you with around 43k for a GPU and some case fans if needed. You can either go with a new 6700 xt or an used 3080. We got an used 3080.
