Iconic Torrent Site RARBG Shuts Down, All Content Releases Stop

RARBG, one of the world's largest torrent sites, has said "farewell" to millions of users. The site, which was a prominent and stable source of new movie and TV show releases, cited a variety of reasons behind its decision to cease operations. The surprise shutdown marks the end of an era.

Oh this is sad. First KAT and now this. Private trackers don't come close to the amount of content this had, my Plex library will be very different going forward

Piratebay still does work although I have read many times that it's not safe anymore to download anything from there as the original one is long gone. Same for yts. Does anyone have any detail on the piratebay issue.

Torrents never die unless seeding stops. The website is just a catalog but doesn't host actual content.
If you have the torrent hash then they can still be downloaded.
so the same torrent file uploaded on two different sites should result in same download speeds then? I stuck to rarbg contents because out of all public torrent sites it provided the best dnld speed.

Website also operate trackers which are must for finding peers unless relying exclusively on DHT which doesn't work correctly or as smoothly on majority of typical home connections. Different trackers will also have different seeders unless all seeders are manually adding all those trackers to the seeded torrent.

Yes, if the torrent file is same then speed will be exactly same doesn't matter where you download it from. Information of trackers is embedded in the torrent file.

Same cannot be said for grabbing torrent hash (no tracker info) or magnet links (may or may not have trackers). Speed might depend on available/included trackers.

I'm using piratebayproxy (dot party) from last 2 year atleast and didn't face any issue related with content or malware etc (using only with windows security).

thats true, but rarbg was the best when it came to browsing through daily releases.
looks like i will have to look into alternatives now.

Those trackers are not same for every torrent site hence the difference between speeds on same release torrent from different torrent sites. Rarbg own trackers were quite popular & obviously another torrent site wouldn't include rarbg trackers for torrents on their site even if it is same release.

Bruh, read what I wrote. "If the torrent file is same" means the file is exactly same, having the same file hash. Then it'll be having same tracker info.

That's too technical for a typical person to understand not to mention even experienced users don't calculate checksums of torrent files from different sites to make sure they are same. Also, I am not aware of such torrent sites which offer such identical torrent files at least for the typical popular sites.
