it picks up minor background noises, but far better than other wireless headphones.

though I would suggest a dedicated mic setup for professional use, can't have your manager saying pardon everytime you say something lol

I think this would go OT, mods can move or delete the conversation.
They have to get more positive reviews because of that price (16k for first 1000 orders).
I appreciate an engineer wanting to build something novel but these are awfully close to something like Skullcandy crushers.
Their claim of wanting to create HiFi speaker experience is great and all but why create thumping bass by vibrating the outer ear (helix if I'm not wrong). Those crushers went down the same route, some people appreciate that but those who get actual HiFi speakers, feel the bass hitting their body not just the ear. Also getting distortion free sound is much harder with these vibrating (impulsive) drivers.
I reckon physically vibrating the ear cushion would also lead to these uneven reflections inside the ear cushions. This would usually be bad if it's not accounted for by the tuning of the dynamic driver. Which they claim has been tuned with GRAS but then don't provide any data of the frequency response graph or anything apart from the parts used.
These days audiophiles or music lovers are getting more literate here in India and are moving away from brands like boat or even skullcandy.
Keeping my rant aside all the best on their journey but I would be more excited if they went on to take real engineering challenges in this field. Also work with drivers that are uncommon like AMT or ribbon drivers, even electrostatic ones in the headphone space.

Yeah I know but I really just want an OK mic nothing extraordinary. Boom mics though nice make the headphones look like it's for calls only, and I want to buy one headphone for general usage, not just calls.

The boom mic is removable as they have a plug. That boat model he doesn't like is one example

Oh I didn't know they were removable? Can you recommend any other than Boat? Want good sound quality and decent ANC. Basically these will be my only pair of headphones for home, work-from-home, travel, everything.

The headphone cups doesn't even flip. And no carrying case and its not even collapsable. This is definitely not meant for travel. Just made the old 20x with bluetooth support with no design changes to fit the travel aspect.

Most of the backers still haven't received their headphones, so forget about new customers. And yeah, no ANC at 20k. This is just another Indian tech startup scam using 'Made in India" jingo tactics. I have nothing particularly against these 'Made in India" tech products, i am simply against IndieGoGo fund-raised startups in general. Even the western ones are scams.

Ok bros, thread can be locked. I decided to buy Srythm NC25 at Rs8,000. Although others did not recommend this, I decided on this due to the following reasons:
  1. Nearly 13,000 reviews on Amazon with an average of 4.3 stars.
  2. Has lots of 'review' videos on YT, although most are non techie influencers and are probably paid. However there were some genuine ones.
  3. Its weighs the least among all in this price range. The closest is Sony CH720 (also under 200 grams) but thats Rs10,000. I am already stretching a lot at Rs8,000
  4. Extremely foldable and collapsible. Also comes with a case.
  5. The extra accessories worth 700 bucks, like airplane adapter and a 6.5mm plug which can be used on my piano. I like brands that show the same love to its lower end models.
  6. I feel i am getting my money's worth with all the features and goodies. Other brand headphones have made compromises intentionally to prevent cannibalization. I don't want a product that was intentionally gimped for the sake of the upper end models from the same brand. I checked the higher priced models from Srythim and they have similar build quality and accessory package. Only thing extra is longer battery life and support for some hifi codecs (i listen to music exclusively on YT Music so it is not a concern for me)
  7. The only thing missing is ability to use mic when plugged in via USB or 3.5mm jack. But turns out, all headphones in this price range has similar drawback, in my knowledge. Other headphones you all recommended and i checked around have too many deal-breaking issues.
  8. If it sucks, well i am here to warn you all about it
And since i got it from Amazon, they also give Srythm Eye Mask worth Rs900 for free too

Honestly at this price point, all the different amazon wirelesss headphones sort of just start to mix and blend together with one another in terms of features and quality (they're all manufactured in china as well). I've only seen big differences in sound quality once you start going above 15k and reach the sony xm ranges. But I trust that your pair should be decent enough too. Will probably have a V shaped tuning as it's very popular on amazon as you said.

No, let's not do that. How about you give us a review after a week say. In bullet points as you listed and let's find out how close it meets your expectations.

At this price for unbranded I tend to be wary. My Plantronics back beat pro's were around 10k five years back and still work fine. I picked up replacement pads for them a while back. This is a major hassle with these headphones. The pads break and no replacement is possible. Becomes uncomfortable and sound quality suffers after.

They came with class A transmitters. That is 30m or 100ft range. Worked across two ten inch walls even. Usually these knockoffs have class B radios which means 10m or 30ft range.

The sound cancellation is avg. Not anywhere close to Sony or Bose. Looking at the reviews of which there are around 4k and not 13k I see the NC is just white noise being played. So that's not the same thing.

I'd say Sony and Bose are definitely overpriced by a factor of three. If you can get older models or second hand maybe they make sense and only for the noise cancelling part.

Active noise cancellation is simply nil. Yes, it cancels the noise of a fan slightly, but that's it. Any other outside sound doesn't cancel it out. The only good and bad thing at the same time is that it has minimal passive cancellation, since it envelops the ears very well and allows little external sound to pass through, but that is not enough. And if you need to hear well what's going on in your environment, you'll have to take off your headphones yes or yes because there's nothing to take away that noise cancellation. If you need good external noise cancellation, the soundcore I mentioned at the beginning does it a thousand times better.

  1. Today is not that month when it sells for 8k (duh)
  2. It doesn't fold, nor does it come with a case
  3. ANC is only upto 20dB
  4. Cheap quality plastic
  5. I don't need LDAC support which is its main selling point at this price range (i must admit, LDAC is very much worth it if you can use it, basically Hi Res audio, but wireless!!
